At least according to the shitheads of the world.

I find it unbelievable that people are still getting assaulted over wearing a Trump hat. Either verbal assault to full on physical assault.

Then you have instances like this where people are talked down to, talked negatively about, called a "disgrace" because they chose to wear a hat. Pretty dang absurd.

And then you have guys that have been cheered on as hero's on the ice over the college team defeating the professional Russian team back in 1980! "Do you believe in miracles?"

But now, times have changed. And none of them should say they regret it. That's absurd too. Just because OTHERS can't handle seeing someone in a red hat.

Miracle on Ice captain Mike Eruzione regrets wearing MAGA hat at Trump rally after blowback

Mike Eruzione, the captain of the 1980 Miracle on Ice U.S. national hockey team, explained why they donned “Keep America Great” hats while attending a rally for President Donald Trump during its 40th anniversary weekend.

And he was surprised it drew such blowback, noting if they could do it over, they would.

“If we knew we were going to piss off this many people, we probably would not have put the hats on,” Eruzione, 65, told the Washington Post. “That’s the big question here. A lot of the stuff I got was, ‘You guys said it’s not political, but when you put the hats on, you made it political.’ ”

Eruzione scored the winning goal against the Soviets, making him a hero along with the rest of the national team, but he’s now receiving scores of angry messages.

Eruzione: People think Miracle team is a disgrace

Eruzione shared with the Post some of the tweets he received about the hats and appearance with Trump.

He’s also getting angry calls and messages from school alumni at his job as director of special outreach at his alma mater, Boston University.

“I told my wife, ‘People think we are a disgrace.’ ”

Too bad Mark Johnson, fellow University of Wisconsin alum and the scorer of two of the four goals against the Russians, was unable to attend the rally/ He was busy coaching the UW women's hockey team, currently #2 in the country. He has taken his teams to the Frozen Four 12 of the last 15 years, finishing as National Champion 5 of those years! I was a season ticket holder for all four years of Mark's tenure at Wisconsin as they won two national titles under his dad, Coach Bob Johnson. After graduating, and before going on to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins (professionals were not allowed in the Olympics back then), Mark joined Badger teammate Bob Suter on the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team. It was a hell of a time to be a Wisconsin hockey fan during my time in Madison.

The players played for the US national team, the goalie skated around the rink with the American Flag draped over him after winning the game and people are bitching that the players made the team 'political' by appearing on stage with the President of the United States!? As Coach Herb Brooks said in his pre-game speech, Screw 'em!

The people in the wrong are these idiots, most of whom were probably not even born yet in 1980, talking out their asses putting something down they weren't around for.

Jimmy Carter politicised the event. Period. He used US participation in international Olympics to protest the USSR politically. Blaming people for then because you hate Trump now is just flat, f-ing stupid.
