America's deadliest day to date: Coronavirus death toll soars to 3,180 - an increase of 605 with a person dying every TWO MINUTES - as 22,000 new infections are recorded and experts say the worst is yet to come

Monday was the deadliest day yet in the country's coronavirus crisis, with 605 people dying and the total death toll reaching 3,180
It is the equivalent of someone across the country dying every two minutes from the disease
There were 22,022 new infections which brings the national total to 164,671
The COVID-19 outbreak is now officially more deadly than the 9/11 terrorist attacks which killed 2,977
Social distancing guidelines have been extended to April 30 as a result of the escalating death toll
In New York City, where nearly 1,000 have died, there are fears of ambulance and paramedic shortages
New data suggests the NYC pandemic will peak on April 15 and across the country, 2,000 will die that day
Health experts say that it will take longer for the virus to spread throughout the US and peak later
In New York City, makeshift morgues are being used and bodies are being placed in cardboard coffins
Over a hellish six hour period on Monday, someone died every two minutes in the city

The US death toll from the coronavirus pandemic climbed past 3,000 on Monday, making the outbreak more deadly than the September 11 terrorist attacks that killed 2,977, and health experts are warning the worst is yet to come.

Total deaths across the United States increased by at least 605 on Monday, reaching a total of 3,180. It meant someone died every two minutes from the deadly disease. There were 22,022 new cases which brings the total to 164,671.

The amount the daily deaths increases by will continue to rise until the pandemic hits its peak in America which is still weeks away.

The University of Washington School of Medicine predicts that by April 20, the daily increase of deaths will hit 2,000. They say, by that metric, that the total US death toll will be 82,141. The White House has painted an even bleaker picture; that between 100,000 and 200,000 people die in a best case scenario where people follow social distancing guidelines

President Donald Trump yesterday urged Americans to follow the rules. He has extended them to the end of April.

New York City is the undoubted epicenter, with 138 new deaths reported on Monday. While it was an increase of 17 percent, it was a smaller increase than Saturday' spike, when 222 died.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio are trying now to do everything they can to prepare for the city for that peak. Field hospitals have been set up in Central Park, at the Javits Center and even in hotels like the Plaza and St Regis.

There are makeshift morgues popping up outside the city's overwhelmed hospitals which are struggling to keep up with the body count.

I hate to say this, but I do wish the president or Cuomo or the doctors would explain what most people's week should look like. Plan on 1 person going for groceries, meds, fill up the car one day of the week. Family can take a walk, with or without dogs around their block, maintaining social distance from anyone outside their own homes-wear masks if you have them. Wash hands thoroughly before and after leaving the home; unpacking groceries; cleaning surfaces. Take groceries out of packaging, avoiding possible transfer from package to refrigerator/freezer/pantry/cabinets. Use disinfectant on all surfaces, spraying bedding and furniture.

Have a schedule for rising, dressing, cooking, working-from-home/school work, electronics, watching a movie, exercising. Pull out cards and board games, use them as family. Read.

Emphasize that their 'sacrifice' is getting along, doing what they can at home. It protects not only their family, but their neighbors. The time we are trying to buy is to keep as many as possible out of the hospitals, so that everyone gets what they need.

Folks just are not getting these messages.

Another example of just how unforgiving the virus is:

Not everything in the NYT should be verboten.

I read an article yesterday that proved that it's now aerosol.

They pulled various bits of virus out of the air in areas where there were infected people - and I mean that the samples were floating out in the hallways, well beyond that 6' mark everyone is preaching.

This thing is mutating. I also read that cats and dogs are catching it from humans.

It's looking like a superbug that mutates faster than anything we've ever seen all by itself, but that's not being openly discussed... probably to keep the masses calm.

IMO, games like that should not be played, and this should not be sugar coated. We are in this position because China sugar coated - nay, outright lied about how incredibly adaptive this bug is.

If this indeed is now aerosol, we're about to see a whole new level of isolation for everyone.
