Coronavirus claims 1,000 U.S. lives in a single day

The United States on Friday recorded at least 1,000 COVID-19 deaths in a single day, a sad milestone in the nation's war to stop the spread of the novel virus, according to figures maintained by Johns Hopkins University.

The figure increased the national death count to 6,921 as of early afternoon Pacific time. Nationally, there are more than 261,438 confirmed cases. That figure is higher than what any other country has confirmed, although U.S. officials believe China and some governments may be underreporting case numbers.

On Thursday, the worldwide caseload eclipsed 1 million. More than 56,767 have died and more than 223,000 have recovered.

In the United States, New York remains the hardest-hit area. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday the state had its deadliest day thus far with more than 562 dead, raising the total count there to 2,935.

In California, there are more than 11,300 confirmed cases, according to a tally maintained by the Los Angeles Times. At least 250 have died.

Nonessential businesses across the world have shuttered, and large-scale events, including the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, have been postponed.

With commerce disrupted worldwide, stock markets across the world have plummeted while unemployment rises. Nearly 10 million Americans sought unemployment benefits in the final two weeks of March. The U.S. economy has likely already slipped into recession.

I've been thinking... what gain is it that china has calculated is going to benefit them by lying about it's number of infected and dead?

Getting others to relax, total devastation, lives lost, economies busted and equalization.

What irks me the most? Not even the Chinese government.

This woman - buying an endless amount of masks, and laughing that Americans can't get them.

Or this woman, going around and quickly touching every single item she can see. I would have knocked her over and held for police.

At least in part what it's always about, whether USSR or China; Communism v Capitalism which is better? Part of me stays unsure whether the virus was deliberate or accidental. Sure though that once it happened, they wanted it to spread, they'd be at the front of crisis and would recover first. Then the propaganda push to 'save' the afflicted.

Propaganda. Those numbers are vastly inflated-- have been since the start.
Even at that 56,000+ out of million- is less than 5 % death rate.
Spanish flu death rate was-

He reported that in thirteen studies of hospitalized women in the pandemic, the death rate ranged from 23% to 71%.

So go ahead believe the propagandists, I mean they are saints just giving you the truth right?
None of them have a reason to lie , right?
I mean thousands of them are media types that always tell the truth-- and just love to make Trump look great, right?

Can you not see how deeply concerned that they are about we citizens?

I remember "Baghdad Bob"--what a great guy-- just speaking the truth to one and all.

Remember --- never let a --good-- crisis go to waste..--Tyr

Tom Dempsey dies after COVID-19 battle

Only four days ago came word that Tom Dempsey had recovered from COVID-19. The good news was short lived.

The former NFL kicker died late Saturday of complications from the coronavirus, the Times-Picayne reports. Dempsey was 73.

Dempsey had battled Alzheimer’s disease and dementia since 2012. He was one of several residents of a senior living facility in New Orleans to contract COVID-19, testing positive March 25.

At least 15 residents at the Lambeth House retirement home in Uptown New Orleans have died from the coronavirus, according to the Times-Picayune.

Dempsey becomes at least the second former NFL player to die after contracting COVID-19. Orlando McDaniel, who played three games for the Broncos in 1982, died last week. McDaniel was 59.

Dempsey, who was born without toes on his right foot and fingers on his right hand, signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 1969. He is best remembered for his record-setting 63-yard field goal in 1969.

The small flat shoe he kicked with is on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Although Dempsey played for the Eagles, Rams, Oilers and Bills after leaving the Saints, he retired to New Orleans.

Title doesnt mention that millions read titles and skip the article.
The media knows that people do that and now how many are so sure his cause of death was C-19?

Yahoo propaganda at its best , imho..
Anything to up the count and instill more and more fear.-----

As Roosevelt said,

http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/5057/

“Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”: FDR’s First Inaugural Address
Franklin D. Roosevelt had campaigned against Herbert Hoover in the 1932 presidential election by saying as little as possible about what he might do if elected. Through even the closest working relationships, none of the president-elect’s most intimate associates felt they knew him well, with the exception perhaps of his wife, Eleanor. The affable, witty Roosevelt used his great personal charm to keep most people at a distance. In campaign speeches, he favored a buoyant, optimistic, gently paternal tone spiced with humor. But his first inaugural address took on an unusually solemn, religious quality. And for good reason—by 1933 the depression had reached its depth. Roosevelt’s first inaugural address outlined in broad terms how he hoped to govern and reminded Americans that the nation’s “common difficulties” concerned “only material things.”

Fear is by far the greatest motivator known to mankind.
Power operates by use of fear.
Fear is the vehicle being driven to rapidly advance political agendas.
And every nation (every government) is doing just that...............

Death count is greatly inflated my friends.
Sure some are dying- people die every minute around the clock.
This inflating the numbers is to cause panic and get people to give more and more power to government.

Fear is the greatest threat to us and our nation, Roosevelt nailed it back then-- it applies and is just as valid now too.......--Tyr
