I know this is insignificant after listening to that beautiful speech. But I can Honestly say...I remember taking part in rescuing those thousands of Cuban refugee's in the Straits of Florida when I was a member of the Crew of just one of the Navy ships who picked them out of the shark infested waters. We had hundreds of them in our WELL DECK and fed them chicken and rice while providing diapers for the babies. I even met a Cuban Woman who was a Doctor who fled Cuba too. She was earning about $50 dollars in U.S. a week while taking care of the sick on the Island. I remember the families packed on top of wooden pallets that almost floated, and the upside down cars that had been sealed to prevent sinking, with 10 or more people sitting there holding on for dear life.
