President Donald Trump on Saturday defended challenging Gov. Ralph Northam on the Second Amendment during the coronavirus pandemic.

A reporter from the Wall Street Journal asked Trump during the White House press briefing if it was “right time” to bring up a Second Amendment issue in the state of Virginia, citing a message on Twitter from the president.

“I think that’s an easy one, that’s not even politics, we’re entitled to a Second Amendment,” Trump said. “To me that’s liberty … where does it all stop?”

Trump noted that the United States was selling an unprecedented amount of guns during the pandemic.

“It’s obviously a big issue, and then you have them working and signing documents and trying to take your Second Amendment away essentially,” Trump said, referring to Gov. Ralph Northam signing gun control legislation during the pandemic.

“I do think it’s an appropriate time to bring it up,” he added.

This is definitely one example of where I see the American point of view rather than the British one.

What you have here is evidence of the Left being provably motivated to disempower citizens ... this HAS to be their purpose. To move towards this, at a very time when a GREATER need to be ready to self-defend is being demonstrated, is clear proof of the Left defying the Will of the People.

The UK wanted Brexit. We voted for it. Our Left worked hard to fight their proven wish of increased empowerment as BRITISH people.

The US wants the fundamental right of self-defence, as enshrined in gun ownership. Your Left works hard to fight the proven wish of empowerment, as free AMERICAN people.

Here we see yet again Trump standing up for the Constitution, for the rights of we citizens to have our own means of self-defense.
And we see the dems/libs/leftists striving to take all of that away.

There's surely an obvious flaw to the Left's thinking ?

How many of those buying more ammo, think they'll be using it ? Do a majority see themselves as shooting up the neighbourhood, as a 'given' .. ?

Somehow, I doubt it !!

Rather more to the point is that citizens want to be PREPARED, in case a need for it ever arises .. which is a basic 'I want the means of defence I choose for myself' mindset.

It's saying, 'I want that facility available to me'.

But the Left's whole outlook is to deny that freedom and that facility. Any Leftie coming along, saying 'Look, you didn't need that firepower' won't want to hear, 'But I wanted it in case I saw a need for it .. who are you to deny me ?'.
