Fire started a week ago and is only 10% contained. Evacuations in some areas yesterday. It's about 15 miles from my house to base of mountain. Fire has been higher on mountain until Wednesday night and then came down mountain NE of Tucson causing evacuations. So far the wind is keeping smoke on other side of valley.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Officials with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday, June 12, some residents in the Cataline Mountains area need to leave their homes immediately.

“If you are in this area, EVACUATE NOW. Move west away from the Catalina Mountains. Do not delay leaving the area,” officials wrote in an alert.

The announcement comes hours after officials rolled back evacuations from the original order yesterday morning. Deputies will be going door to door to alert people who have not already received an alert.

Nature in general beautiful, but often dangerous. Storms coming in. Lightening. Volcanoes, Avalanches. . .
