Again, I Beg Light To Grant A Reprieve

From abyss, darkness brings it wicked hordes
vomiting poison and cutting with swords'
eating into mind, cracking tender bones
melodies sung in evil's harshest tones
nights now cast with sorrows blowing about
dreams invaded by evil's savage shouts.

From heartaches, come epic sadness and woes
in life's black despair, its accursed shows
Alas! Can again sweetest peace be found
Or will yet again this poor soul be bound
Again, I beg light to grant a reprieve
Relief from He that lies and so deceives.

From abyss, dark shadows fly to invade
this sad world and prance in tragic parades
Will Fate its black-clawed hand now remove
And again let hope its sweet promise prove?

I woke this morn, decided to read poetry at my home poetry site. Read about 20 poems there, made only one comment.
Decided to check out the new contests offers. Saw that my dear friend Rob Carmack had a new contest offer. One that gave a song and a video link to the song. Required the entrant to watch and listen to the song and then write a poem from the thoughts/emotions that video had stirred in the poets heart and soul. I decided to check out the video/song, and did not expect to write to enter but I was just curious.
To my shock the band, the song , the video was truly great. I while viewing the video and listening to the song wrote the new poem shown below-
when finished, edited it to achieve uniformity in the verses and then decided(to my own surprise) to enter the contest.
It is dark, as was the song and music video , as is my current state of being myself.
I hope you may enjoy reading this newly created dark piece, born from a state of being that currently sees only epic grays and feels only sad rays beckoning within dawn's awakening lights. --Tyr

In This Silent Agony, Tears Flow As A Raging Flood

In this silent agony, tears flow as a raging flood
bluish storm enters to poison this aching blood
beg I, no pain, no more pain, send heartaches no more
no light exists, I weep upon dire desperation's floors
I feel the lonely, icy deep cuts made against the grain
lamenting nightmares of this never ending pain,
this dying soul, its dreams now panes of shattered glass
beat I on this wall, as sorrows allows no hope to pass.

In this silent storm, chilling blues- crying spirit invades
life now has no norm, this world cancelled its parade
dawn its beauty now denies, its soul breaks and flays
gone are loving and sweet joy, deeper are life's dark and grays
I reach in the dying of the light, no hand do I find
there is sad emptiness, tortures of every kind,
talking to the heavens, their silence this soul slays
hold I love's empty chalice, as dying soul falls and prays.

In this silent agony tears flow as a raging flood
a bluish storm enters to still this aching blood
no more pain, no more pain, please send heartaches no more
there is no happiness, I weep on desperation's floors.

Down In The Dark Cavern, A Whispering Was Heard

Was it not the dark ghastly face of death
That so stirs the heart, so quickens the breath
As if touching midnight gloom without end
Living sad and alone without a friend
Aye, my friend- worse waited in that abyss
Time eternal without her touch, her kiss
You say there was absolutely no hope
Except kick the chair, depend on the rope?

Yes, the damn rope, why the hell did it break
Now, that easier path I must forsake
Perhaps live in this epic flooding gloom
With you Raven, a ghost haunting this room!

This poem placed 4th in the contest.....
I read all the entries after the contest placements were posted.
And fully agree myself that first, second and third place were better poems than my entry.
Thus quite happy to be placed 4th..-Tyr
