This no surprise to me...
From the second Biden got the nod I've been saying that the vote is not for Biden but for his running-mate, that he wouldn't serve a full term, probably not even a full year. He'll step down for health reasons, to spend more time with his family, something... anything.
I suppose I could be wrong...
But if it does happen that way, you'll be hard pressed to convince me that it wasn't the plan along... back door their real candidate by running the candidate they think could beat Trump...
Of course, Trump could win... in which case I will do two things: laugh my ass off because Biden lost, then weep because Trump won.

Yep, they are installing a losing primary runner, strangest election ever. Our reactions similar, though I'm very likely to vote for Trump this time, not because I've changed my mind on him, but rather that I now think that the democrats-mostly those in Congress and DNC are more dangerous to the country than Trump.
None of this bodes well.

Wise man. I've liked most of what he's done, what I don't like would be irrelevant to most here, so I will not go over that stuff. I do wish he'd found or at least had tried to find some rhetoric to better deal with Covid, if he loses I'd bet it's going to be on that. Yes, I thought that before the Woodward blabbing.
He did the right things, he just wouldn't say what needed to be say. The one possible mistake? Shutting down so completely-before it was necessary anywhere but Seattle, NY area, and parts of CA. I even understand why, not enough was known and he did get how dangerous the potential.
Since we are likely to see some increases in spots going forward, I think it's in all interests to shut down only where necessary. Shockingly AZ did pretty well eventually-after lots of bad starts-much along the lines of Trump. Saying the wrong things and so many following what was said, not done. The counties called the level of closings, mask requirements, and re-openings-based on their data.

Yep, and I personally believe that it's even more than just his running mate but rather a team of people running things behind the scenes.
I also talked with my father in law in the past, and thinking about it now. Hillary is awfully quiet. Is there any way for her to slip in at the right time? or maybe even enter the scenery and have power, even if not president. Whatever they are up to can't be good. Just the legit things declared they want to do is horrid, IMO. But we have to vote for Biden and then read more to find out.

I think the whole group of them right now would be a disaster. Between Pelosi & Schumer in the house and senate. The squad nitwits gaining power, aoc in particular and her plans based on her popularity and reach. The dems will keep the house and it's a fight right now for the senate. Looks like at least one SC justice in Ginsberg. I believe this is one of the most important elections in a long time. I think there's a lot more on the line this go 'round.

I hate being Debbie Downer, I think that all we face right now is the disintegration of the republic, fast or slow. With slow at least there's a possibility that a charismatic leader with grounding in the Constitution and the workings of a republic will emerge and catch the imagination of the people.
It's likely a pipe dream, but still possible if we are not fully socialist.

If Joe steps down before the election, Hillary might very well be at the top of the ticket. Given the fact the dnc picks the candidate....
