The synopsis from IMDB, and the stars who are no more than folks who helped start things, helped code things and such.

Storyline

Set in the dark underbelly of Silicon Valley, The Social Dilemma fuses investigative documentary with enlightening narrative drama. Expert testimony from tech whistle-blowers exposes our disturbing predicament: the services Big Tech provides-search engines, networks, instant information, etc.-are merely the candy that lures us to bite. Once we're hooked and coming back for more, the real commodity they sell is their prowess to influence and manipulate us.

-------

This is a documentary movie, and has tidbit of visuals along with it to help you better understand what they're talking about.

But it's simple actually. Get people to join and keep them interacting as much as possible. The more we interact the more they learn about us. As they learn about us, the way things are displayed to us in the future are slowly molded to our liking. And then us our liking and all the gained knowledge, they learn better in how to get us to further interact. And all along, they get paid by partners for putting in advertising in the appropriate places. And by learning, some of that advertising will in fact work in getting you to purchase things and much much more.

They can actually change your behavior over time based on their deliveries of questions and answers. Even Google and their autocomplete and answers are slooooowly and slightly different for each person depending on what they have learned about you.

But then, the guts - and how the things spready like fire instantly. And they learned based on the same learning and delivery, that they can actually make change. They can help with protests!!! They can make things better or worse they have learned. They found they can ever so slowly on the individual scale then to the larger scale of course, and then slowly dictate to society. And many are learning this and not liking it and feeling bad about what they have created.

Hell, they have a guy that invented and worked on the "likes" in facebook, and an entire division to it. And then how they use it to get people to return and such. But then learned how the likes made people feel happy. But then when a friend gets more, some girls or guys feel bad about it. So there's the other side. And also, opened many more doors for bullying, or not liking pictures, but making fun of them.

Just interesting all the way around how it all operates and what they learn and do with the info! All of them using similar models and algorithms made my the same people at multiple places.

Google involved in all, then Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube, Whatsapp, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Linkedin, and even dang Uber!
