I was at a bus station in Nuevo Leon last week and saw this guy begging for money. He was arrested in Minnesota and ICE apparently dumped him in Monterrey. He lives in Guadalajara. If anyone tries to tell you that Trump isn't deporting people or that the China Virus is preventing deportations, the kindest thing one could say about such a person is that they don't know what they are talking about. Any news you hear about Mexico only being open to essential travel is also "fake news". The guy at the pedestrian border station in Nuevo Laredo was half asleep on a stool and not checking anything. The CBP officials on the US side only seem to care if you're evading Texas liquor taxes if they see that you're an American national. Masking, checking temperature and enforcing social distancing is only done in rich areas as "security theatre". Mercado Juarez in Monterrey was shoulder-to-shoulder with people.
