“I don’t want a law enforcement officer who says, ‘I’m only enforcing the law that I like or think should be enforced,’” the Democrat governor added.

From what I have seen - the police in some areas around the nation have at times decided not to fully enforce orders they see as unconstitutional.

I don't know what he is seeing and what his plans are for our state over the next few months. But I looked at Staten Island since this is what he's speaking about. Staten Island is Richmond County for those who may not know:

Richmond total cases - 476,612
21,213 positive
167 new cases today

Is it that bad? How do other counties look? Is my area gonna get locked down? So here is Westchester where I'm at:

Westchester total cases 1,031,624
47,262 positive
421 new cases today

Other than loved ones in my home I am ok. But if family came to visit they are welcome in my home 24x7x365 no matter who says what. My family will always come first. And it will suck *** if he starts shutting businesses again and the economy will follow. I don't believe in the total closures and harm.

Much better can be done with educating stores and allowing them to handle and enforce various limitations perhaps.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo Says Areas Face Red Zone Restrictions, Which Prohibit ‘Non-Essential Gatherings of Any Size’

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) warned on Sunday that certain areas of New York City are heading toward tighter coronavirus restrictions, including the most restrictive “red zone” which prohibits all gatherings deemed “non-essential.”

The Democrat governor stated some areas, namely Staten Island, Long Island, and parts of Manhattan, are “in the warning track” and could soon face additional restrictions due to concerns over rising infection rates and hospital capacity.

“The rate goes up; there are more restrictions to slow the economy — that’s bad for business. Rates go up, you overburden the hospital system, you overburden doctors, nurses, you can have possible equipment supplies,” he said.

“Numbers go up and people die. People die. Period,” Cuomo added.

The governor said such areas “will go into those zones” unless the existing trajectory “dramatically” changes.

“Parts of Staten Island will go into an orange zone. Parts of Staten Island will go into red zone at the current rate,’’ he continued, referring to Staten Island as a “serious problem.”

The red zone is the most restrictive, prohibiting “non-essential gatherings” — both residential and non-residential — of “any size.” Red zone restrictions also close all businesses deemed “non-essential.” The orange zone is slightly less restrictive, allowing gatherings of ten people “maximum” either indoors or outdoors, though it requires “high-risk non-essential businesses” — such as hair salons and gyms — to remain closed.

Cuomo has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks after placing a ten-person cap on gatherings at private residences and pleading with local governments to enforce his mandate.

“The rules are only as good as the enforcement. Local governments are in charge of enforcement. There are only two fundamental truths in this situation: it’s individual discipline and it’s government enforcement. Period. End of sentence,” he said. He has since lashed out at law enforcement officers who have vowed not to enforce his edict.

“I don’t believe that person is a law enforcement officer,” Cuomo said at a Wednesday press conference.

“I don’t want a law enforcement officer who says, ‘I’m only enforcing the law that I like or think should be enforced,’” the Democrat governor added.

Last week, Cuomo explicitly urged people to stay away from their loved ones.

Pretty much everyone of the dipshits on power trips and dictating what others can and can't do - don't have any plans or such intentions to follow such rules themselves. Above them.

And Cuomo is a POS. Doing 100% the opposite of his demands to everyone else.

COVID Hypocrite: NY Gov. Cuomo to Have Thanksgiving With Elderly Mother and Two Daughters After Telling New Yorkers to Not Have Family Gatherings

After weeks of telling New Yorkers to stay home for Thanksgiving and to not hold family dinners with non-household members out of fears of spreading the COVID-19 China coronavirus and mandating a ten-person limit, the Emmy award winning Governor Andrew Cuomo is having his elderly mother and two of his daughters for Thanksgiving dinner in Albany.

Cuomo was mocked with a window sticker depicting him spying on Thanksgiving gatherings.

Cuomo mentioned his plans in an interview with the WAMC public radio network radio Monday afternoon that was reported on by local reporters and by the Daily Beast:

“It’s about life and death,” Cuomo said, before offering a story about his daughter crying to him on the phone about now having Thanksgiving together. “We are in a place now with bad synergy.”

Hours later, during an interview on WAMC, Cuomo admitted he was still having an in-person Thanksgiving despite his pleas for New Yorkers to stay home, stating he was spending the holiday with his 89-year old mother and two daughters in Albany.

“The story is, my mom is going to come up and two of my girls. But the plans change,” Cuomo said.

I'm so sick of the sanctimonious on FB saying how they 'will miss being with their families, but 'feel' good knowing they are saving others.' Seriously.

I know the risks, perhaps it's easier for me, since my family is too far. Still, I'll be dining with my roommate and her daughter. Lord knows where her 20 something daughter has been. At some point, if I get this, meaning I haven't already, I'll survive or not. Over 98% I'll survive. ;)
