So, just filled up my vehicle. Regular unleaded was $2.22 per gallon. Just curious what the going price is around other parts of the country if anyone cares to report. Can't help but think we will look back on this time period as the good old days when fuel was affordable.

$2.50 for regular unleaded around here.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing $4+ in the not-so-distant future, and importing oil again from our good pals over in the Middle East.

Don't laugh too hard. Trying this on cell. To your point, I have been planning and purchasing based on that exact premise. Retun to 78-80, Not the Movie. Guess I'm not the only one who remembers how bad that sucked. I ended up in the Corps for a place to sleep that wasn't my car, food and a job.

Here the price has went up from $1.99 to $2.59 a gallon since January.
Since the dem/globalist puppet Biden was fraudulently installed....
My guess is it will likely hit 4 bucks a gallon by the end of thus year.
As the dems are always for forcing gas to cost more- they actually want it to hit 6 bucks a gallon.
And that was back in the filthy traitor obama's term in office..
Yet morons voted him in and now did so with extra special help ( cheating ) voted in the filthy scum Biden..-Tyr

A big part of this is OPEC has reduced production. Less oil, higher prices. Joe needs to convince them to up production... though I don't see that happening.

Some of it has to do with summer and people getting out more after being locked up... er... down, more demand, higher prices.

$2.62 here in OK.

I believe the prices are rising because we are being lead by a chief executive who supports regulation and taxation squashing our supply/production volumes. It's His fault.

Pain at the Pump: Gasoline Rises to 7 Year High, Up 40% Since January

The national gas price average has increased 40 percent since the start of the year, according to the latest data from AAA.

Gas prices are up from $2.25 to $3.13, the motorist service club reported. Ac cording to data from the Federal Reserve, this is the highest price for gas since October 2012.

“Moreover, it is not stopping there. Motorists can expect gas prices to increase another 10–20 cents through the end of August, bringing the national average well over $3.25 this summer,” AAA reports.

“Robust gasoline demand and more expensive crude oil prices are pushing gas prices higher,” said Jeanette McGee, AAA spokesperson. “We had hoped that global crude production increases would bring some relief at the pump this month, but weekend OPEC negotiations fell through with no agreement reached. As a result, crude prices are set to surge to a seven year-high.”

The price of Brent Crude started the day up but by midday Wednesday it had fallen 1.3 percent. Despite the fall, it remains near the highest level since October of 2018.

Well there was a lot of truth in that statement. Everyone in the country would like to have $2.22 a gallon gasoline right now. But the administration has a handle on it, Buttigieg and Harris would like us to imagine a future where vehicles do not have emission, the energy secretary says there will be a period of pain because we are transitioning and Psaki would advice us to go take an aerobics class and have a margarita this weekend. What a joke!

The closest station to me is $4.39. The next one is $4.46. effing insanity.

Surprisingly it's only up to $4.59 in Manhattan. Figured they would be gouging already, but soon to come I am sure. It's well over $5 in many places in Cali and I even read/heard about one that was over $7!
