My first car , mine was blue and white vinyl top.
I bought it new in Jonesboro Arkansas, 1973. I was 19 years old.

Ex-wife got mine in the divorce in 1976. I got to keep my motorcycle, my guns, my clothes- we had no living children.
I worked to buy both the car and the motorcycle.
Yet as usual court favors the woman.
I'd buy that same car now and be wiling to pay a pretty price to get it.-Tyr

Don't get pissed, buddy, but that baby is ugly! I always thought it was a shame that the early 70s produced formerly ultra-sexy muscle cars into those unimaginative land yachts. How that ended up turning into that from a 69 Charger is beyond me.

Mustangs got hit with the ugly stick too, along with Novas, Chevelles, etc.

My first car was a 79 Pontiac Sunbird, 6 cylinder with a 4-speed manual... and as I was searching for a picture of it to show you, I just realized that it is ugly as well. But I was immensely proud of it at the time and thought it was beautiful!

My next 2 cars were a 78 Camaro & a 77 Camaro.

I never did get a Smoky and the Bandit Trans Am like I desperately wanted with the screaming chicken on the hood. To this day I want one, impractical as they are.

They said I helped him part the waters on the RED Sea during my first Deployment, and another guy suggested I was the Navigator for NOAH...
So, here's what they thought my first car looked like.

Actually. When I was sixteen. I had the family 48 Ford Coup, Squadron Blue from EARL SHIEB in Philly for only $39.00. Straight SIX cylinders and four windows for Air conditioning.

69 Mercury Montego. Was a metallic olive color with a black roof. Sporty little car (for its day). Too much car for one of my female cousins, apparently.

By 73 the Montego suffered the same fate as others mentioned above. It was a battle wagon and a half.

Yet another MGTOW data point. And in your case, no children were involved, so "best interest of the children" wasn't even a factor. Most of the older MGTOW content creators had children.

Good in the 70s: You could sit on the hood of your car at the drive in

Bad (in S FL): If you didn't wash that Detroit steel every week without fail the ocean would eat your car.

Those cars could drink some gas (hi-test, of course) :)

1966 Chevy Impala SS Convertible. I put a red Racing Stripe across the trunk. Not in this photo.

I got lucky as my first car was from my older brothers friend, so at a heavy discount - as in $20 for my first car!!

Sadly, I found out rather quickly that I overpaid! :laugh2:

First off, the trunk was rusted out in several spots and, I shit you not, there was a small damn tree growing out of it!! So had to remove the trunk crap and clean a little. Never got the trunk fixed though. :)

This gem was a 1972 Dodge Dart. And that sucker was indestructible!!''

This is a Dodge Dart, same year!! Wish mine looked like this:

Sadly, mine was more like this:

A Mercury Comet, don’t know the exact year, but it looked like this (minus the spoiler), plus a rusted back side panel. I was a poor first year law student and happy to have it!

Also, it was the exact green of a can of Comet, which was the joke.

Mine was an old LTD, my old man got it for me when I turned 15. He didn't want to risk his transportation on someone just learning to drive.

It was this color, but oxidized.
