Shar and I just got done watching this movie. It was shot entirely here in Wasilla - renamed "Gangrene Gulch" for the movie. Released in 2015.

It's a funny movie, with the monster-moose being deliberately cheesy. The recurring anti-hippie jokes running throughout are pretty normal for here - hippies being code for liberals, of course.

When you get to the part where the Mime shouts out, "It's global warming!!" in the mob scene, that's my old co-worker Mark Dickerson. He's an extremely funny guy that I worked with for the better part of a decade. Looks like he shaved his trademark mustache to get that Mime paint on his face.

The guy running the puppets really cracked me up more and more the longer things went on.

Give it a watch!

Oh, and another thing : the guy starring is a History teacher here in Wasilla, and was my step-daughter's favorite teacher. Intrigued, we went through the credits and half the cast are teachers, principals and librarians. Sharon knows about 40% of the cast.

I'm really amazed that I never heard about this being made, Wasilla is a pretty small town. I must have been on one of my extended work trips or something.

The scenery shots are all local, Jim and Darin will readily be able to pick out Hatcher's Pass, Matanuska River, the farms and definitely Little Susitna River in all the aerial footage. Hard to believe that they made this on a $65k budget, I think everyone chipped in to have fun with it.

If I get all my chores done, I'm going to watch this as I ice my left shoulder. I did something. . . LOL!

Finally had some time and watched the movie. Hilarious! My youngest son and watched after a full day of skiing, fun way to end a day. Thanks for the suggestion!
