This place is a hoot. I say that because we were some of the few blessed folk who never lost power or water. It could have gotten real un-funny real quick at any point in time.

The ex-wife had no power the whole time. She and my younger daughter lived in the car outside a WalMart and went inside to get warm.

I was stuck in this house (again) with my daughter and grandchildren. I like them better at work/school :)

Never say die: Yesterday morning I put on the longjohns, cammie trou's, combat boots, hoodie and Carhartt jacket and went running in the damned snow. Cabin fever is me. Not an unprecedented stunt for me. I sure as Hell don't remember it hurting like it does now though

The stores and gas stations got emptied. Having witnessed them last hurricane that was headed our way, I got my gas, smokes n cokes 2 days before everyone started acting screwy :)

All the cacti in my yard (planted by previous owner) looks dead. I'm seeing a day or 2 screwing with the yard :(

All in all, just a peachy-keen however many days it was. Got a hard freeze tonight and we're back in the 40s-60s blah weather :)

We are going to be in 80s tomorrow. Our cactus can't decide if it's winter or summer. Some have already bloomed.

Which means as soon as it dries out a day or two it's me vs the yard :( I like a nice looking yard but hate yard work

It is that fluffy, pretty white stuff that often thrills the kids, getting them out of school,
washes the landscape -giving a beautiful aura and is a real biaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaachhh to shovel out of the damn way!--Tyr

We had 14 inches the first go-round, best part were the birds.

Cardinal

As I was taking pictures of the Cardinal, all the birds just exploded, flying off in a panic and this landed right where the Cardinal was.

The snow changed to sleet in the afternoon, Mr. Bluebird looked like he'd had enough but figured he might as well wait for me to refill the mealworms in the Bluebird feeder.

https://i.postimg.cc/5bffLw0z/Blue-Sleet-1.jpgI have 3 couples homesteading on my front porch. Cardinals, finches and I'm not sure what the last couple is. They usually live in the trees out front along with a couple of grey dove. The "rodent" birds we have are grackles, sparrow and pigeons. The latter won't come down to the porch so I toss the food for the former under the little hedge where they will come and get it.

I got a couple of good pics but my pics and post skills are seriously lacking :)
