Baltimore Will No Longer Prosecute ‘Low Level Crimes’ Like Prostitution, Trespassing, Urinating in Public and Selling Drugs

The crime riddled city of Baltimore will no longer be prosecuting “low level crimes” including prostitution and drug distribution, the State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced on Friday.

Crimes that they will no longer prosecute include:


CDS (drug) possession
Attempted distribution CDS
Paraphernalia possession
Prostitution
Trespassing
Minor traffic offenses
Open container
Rogue and vagabond
Urinating/defecating in public


The crumbling city has already had 44 murders and 94 non-fatal shootings this year.

Oh man, I've traveled there many a time for various business reasons, and a few times just cruising through while heading south. My best advice anymore is to get on 95 and just wave hello as you pass by! It truly is a city that went downhill big time IMO.

From an outsider, I have seen a lot of racial turmoil there over the years. And crime went way up.

So now this, I don't understand the point? To keep people out of jail? And that should help crime too right? :rolleyes: Look at that list that she wants to overlook now? That's literally a list of things that most around the nation want to eliminate. Drug problems will skyrocket even if arrests don't show it. How brazen will prostitution be? Will the police truly ignore all these things? And then the others are all bad enough - but how many people are already being arrested in Baltimore for either urinating or defecating in public? Enough that the mayor wants to stop with the arrests for stated reasons? I just can't imagine a single reason in this world why peeing/pooping in public should be ignored? WTF?
