And of course it's not happening.

Oh, and it's also once again based on racism and the big bad Republicans are forcing their white supremacist ways on black people again.

Fact is though, nearly 70% support it.

And dipshit Abrams is still claiming someone is sitting in her seat. She's claiming fraud.

Georgia businesses must stand against new state law suppressing the right to vote

In Georgia, Donald Trump’s big lie that the election was stolen has now been turned into bad law — an election law designed to make it harder for minorities and the young to vote. - This has nothing to do with Trump and people have been demanding voter ID for eons. And "designed" to be racist?

This is, as President Joe Biden stated, the new Jim Crow, a blatant attempt by Republicans to suppress votes so they can hold onto power.

This bad law drives a stake into democracy in Georgia. It must be reversed. The Justice Department is considering going to court. Civil rights groups in Georgia have filed suit. The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the For the People Act that would set national standards for fair elections.

Now, businesses and associations must weigh in. When apartheid South Africa suppressed the votes of blacks, an international movement arose to make South Africa a pariah state. Athletic teams refused to travel to South Africa. Companies disinvested. -So now voter ID is like apartheid?

Celebrities refused to perform. Countries enforced sanctions. Eventually, apartheid fell in a peaceful transition to democracy.

Georgia’s misguided leadership must feel similar pressure. I have called on Major League Baseball to move the All-Star game from Atlanta. Companies like CNN, Delta, UPS and others with headquarters in Georgia must make their opposition clear. Celebrities should begin to postpone appearances in Georgia until the law is changed. The WNBA, which played a major role in standing with the Black Lives Matter mobilizations, should join with the NBA and the MLB players’ association to demand the law be reversed.

This mobilization is vital because this law is a direct affront to democracy. Let’s be clear about what is going down.

Trump’s big lie was refuted by official recounts, by Georgia’s secretary of state and election officials, and by Trump’s own attorney general. Despite Trump’s direct intimidation, the Republican secretary of state stated the truth: There was no evidence of fraud. The election — and later Senate run-off elections — featured a dramatic increase in turnout with the votes cast and counted fairly.

Led by the governor, state Republicans then claimed that election law changes were needed to “restore confidence,” a confidence allegedly weakened by Trump’s big lie. - This has nothing to do with Trump, and will now be used as the 'pushing' factor and called racist to continue their lies.

They then passed a law designed to suppress the votes of those likely to vote against them.

Among other things, the law makes it a crime to give water or food to people in line to vote. It ensures that those lines will be long by slashing the availability of drop boxes, limiting early voting and imposing new ID requirements on mail-in voting. After Democrats won the runoff elections in two Senate seats, Republicans voted to reduce the time for the runoff from nine weeks to four with no clear provision for early voting, which African Americans use disproportionately.

This attack on the right to vote is direct and blatant. Propelled by a massive increase in African American and young voters, Democrats flipped Georgia in 2020, winning the presidential race and taking two Senate seats, including the historic election of the first African American to a Senate seat.

And yet...

As Democrats Claim Voter ID Is Racist, New Poll Shows Nearly 70% of Blacks Support It

Democrats are crying racism after Georgia Republicans added a voter ID requirement to make the state’s elections more secure. The only problem is that the vast majority of those polled — including black and minority voters — support that new measure.

Earlier this month, the Georgia state Senate passed S.B. 202 that included commonsense measures like tightening procedures for polling locations and requiring voters to present identification to request and cast absentee ballots.

Democratic critics have charged that the bill is voter suppression fueled by white supremacy, using the default accusation that has become their Pavlovian response to all Republican-initiated legislation.

Democratic Georgia state Rep. Park Cannon committed so fully to that narrative that she attempted to stop Republican Gov. Brian Kemp from signing the bill into law and was arrested for trying to disrupt the proceedings.

In a lengthy Twitter thread Cannon posted after she was released from custody, the Democratic lawmaker explicitly linked the bill with white supremacy and even roped in a completely unrelated but similarly mischaracterized crime.

Comparing Georgia’s new voting law to Jim Crow is a disgusting smear

President Joe Biden is so committed to bipartisan cooperation and fact-based governance that he has launched an ignorant and incendiary attack on the new Georgia voting law. Biden says the legislation is “Jim Crow in the 21st century” and an “un-American law to deny people the right to vote.”

It is now practically mandatory for Democrats to launch this kind of unhinged broadside. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, accusing Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp of having stolen his 2018 election victory over Democratic activist Stacey Abrams (a poisonous myth), tweeted, “The Republican who is sitting in Stacey Abrams’ chair just signed a despicable voter-suppression bill into law to take Georgia back to Jim Crow.”

Anyone making this charge in good faith either doesn’t understand the hideousness of the Jim Crow regime or the provisions of the Georgia law.

The old Jim Crow was billy clubs and firehoses; the alleged new Jim Crow is asking people to write a driver’s-license number on their absentee-ballot envelopes.

The old Jim Crow was poll taxes; the new Jim Crow is expanding weekend voting.

The old Jim Crow was disenfranchising voters en masse based on their race; the new Jim Crow is limiting ballot drop boxes to places they can’t be tampered with.

It is hard to believe that one real voter is going to be kept from voting by the new rules.

To better ensure the security of absentee ballots, the law requires that voters provide a driver’s-license or state-ID number to apply for a ballot and one of those numbers (or the last four digits of a Social Security number) when returning the ballot.

Idiots. It's all about narrative. I guess Tim Scott from South Carolina winning state-wide election to the Senate (twice) doesn't count.

Can someone explain why there is such a low expectation of black people's ability to acquire an ID?

The standard line is requiring an ID is a form of a poll tax. Ok let's use that logic for a moment. Allowing people to vote without an ID should be legal because there should not be a burden of poll tax placed a person's constitutional right to vote. The same logic should be applied to other rights of the constitution. How many democrats would agree with the ability for a person to legally purchase a gun without an ID? Currently the constitution 2nd amendment states,

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

So, shall ID to purchase guns not be necessary? Unlikely, ID will certainly still be require to purchase a gun. So the idea of a poll tax in connection to acquiring an ID doesn't hold up. Again I will ask, why is there such a low expectation of black people's ability to acquire an ID? Because it is claimed that such a requirement is racist. It is not!

Since LBJ tried to create the Great Society in the 60's. The Democrats have intentionally Extorted, Stolen, Lied, and Blackmailed Black Americans by depriving them of a good education...FIRST. Then by buying the Black Votes for Democrats who convinced the less educated (intentionally) to always vote Democrat.
Consequently...Democrats have convinced far too many Black, Uneducated Americans they need to be FOREVER thankful for POLITICIANS who only want their votes. With that...Democrats convinced Black voters THEY AREN'T SMART ENOUGH TO GET AN ID on their own.
To prove it. Ask yourself this. "HOW DID THAT LBJ Great Society Work Out???"
