This is how bad things are getting now.

I don't care how bad someone thinks a crime is/was, the perpetrator is afforded due process in a court of law. And at times we want someone dead that night, we want and expect a guilty verdict. But if and when our time comes we would want and expect that due process as well.

And this wasn't as if someone afforded another that process. This was someone merely stating they had that right. This should be a bogus termination of some sort.

Brooklyn Center City Council Fires City Manager After He Called For Due Process For Police Officer to Avoid Backlash From BLM Mob

Brooklyn Center City Manager Curt Boganey was fired on Monday after he said the police officer who shot Daunte Wright deserved due process.

A police officer shot and killed 20-year-old Daunte Wright on Sunday night during a traffic stop.

Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon called the shooting of Daunte Wright an “accidental discharge.”

“It is my belief that the officer had the intention to employ their taser, but instead shot Mr. Wright with a single bullet,” he said.

Boganey was fired by the Brooklyn City Council for daring to say the officer deserves due process.

“Daunte Wright did not get due process in that situation — she needs to be fired immediately,” an angry presser attendee said to Curt Boganey.

I would take this to court if I were him. I can't imagine that many courts are going to agree with the response to what he said. But being city manager, I don't know how they get the position? And whether or not the council can do so, and get away with it. If this were a police officer who stated this, then I couldn't imagine the appeals board upholding this firing.

I find it disgusting to be honest.

Gives you a good idea what things are like right now in Minnesota.

From where I sit, it's pretty much like this all around. Not just cities, but schools, businesses, etc.

I'm sure he will. Most city managers are hired by the city council and have employment contracts. I'm sure the outcome of that suit won't make national news.

Someone will need to find a different relative to put into the position.
