I have been for last 3 weeks. Grocery store, restaurants, hardware stores, etc. I see more and more people not wearing. We are still having problems with a democratic mayor here in Tucson even though governor Ducey said no more mask mandate. People have been posting on FB a list of places not requiring masks. The mask police are handing out fines to those businesses even though governor said its up to business owners. Power corrupts absolutely.

But, I like this and think more businesses should put it up.

What's the difference between demands on the left vs demands on the right?

For myself it depends where I am, who I'm with, what I'm doing, what a particular business may request... I was in five different states last weekend and there were plenty of varying conditions.

Great opening post. I call my fellow maskless people "freedom walkers". I have always gone maskless until I am stopped by an enforcer. I've done this since the beginning. When I see a fellow freedom walker, I make sure to thank and/or compliment him or her.

Love that song!!

Really can't much here in NY as it's still required almost anywhere you go. Sometimes you can maybe get away with it in a small convenience story for a quick pit stop, but most idiots in NY will harass you at most places without one. That is if you can get very far without having one on.

What I don't get is SO many wearing them in their own cars, with no one else in the car. WTF? Then many others walking around by themselves and no one else in sight. Some must think it's everywhere in the air.

I do what I have to do. I carry mine out of the vehicle and put it on right before the entrance doors, and it comes off even quicker as I exit. I'm not one for shopping for longer than a few minutes anyway so not a huge deal, but I still think it's dumb after being immunized. And double masking even dumber. And triple masking being delusional.

When I went to my oldest son's wedding, the hotel we first checked into was masked obsessed. I fought with the manager over it and even showed my vaccine card. He told me if that I was one of those anti-maskers he didn't want me nor my money in "his house". Since this happened on the second day of my stay, that means I got a night's stay free. I told him that the $100 will fit really well in my pocket, but I had to work remotely until 6 PM. I checked into the hotel next door at 6 PM that was just as good for $20 per night cheaper. Thanks for saving me $200, mask NAZI!

Indeed. I just went to Universal studios in Orlando for a little vacation, and there was no escape from the masks in their parks. Same with the airlines. I still have a young kid, so I teach that we remain civilized and comply where required to. Especially i small businesses. As for around town though, my young one usually keeps a count of how many freedom walkers we see. No masks in my family until an enforcer demands it. I always want enforcers to have to demand it.

That's the problem though, how do you know? Someone else wearing a mask may hate them and feel the same, but have been told to put it on or were obligated somehow. Some places I have went I WANTED to put it on. Then other places like a fast food drive-in, I won't put it on.

My Dad was in Disney not long ago and said it's back to being packed again and everyone must go through the temperature check and wear masks. That's gotta suck in the heat. No thanks for me.

So we are fortunate in Idaho, there has never been a state wide mask mandate. Many local governments put a mask mandate in place, locally the police did not enforce the mask mandate and it is now been removed. So I rarely wear one. If a retailer insists on masks I don’t go there and I haven’t been in a restaurant yet that has turned me away because I didn’t have a mask. Right now, around here it is probably 50/50 on mask use. It feels great to go into a store without a mask, give someone a big smile with confidence and later see them with their masked removed.

What I don't get is SO many wearing them in their own cars, with no one else in the car. WTF? Then many others walking around by themselves and no one else in sight. Some must think it's everywhere in the air.

I agree Jim, that doesn’t make any sense. In fact it is a little disturbing, what is the logic in wearing a mask in a vehicle by yourself?
So, if someone wants to wear a mask, whatever, that is their business. They can choose for themselves, just let me choose for myself as well. I promise, I’m not going to kill your grandma!

Fauci and the other political doctors have lied and confused the crap out of about 100-200 million Americans. So now folks don't know if they need masks or not, whether N95 or cloth, whether 1, 2 or 3, whether vaccines give you any immunity or not... and much more.

And I agree. Whatever it is they heard or think, these folks are wearing masks as they think it's the right thing to do and also the necessary thing to do. Many have no idea about who is most at risk and those least at risk. Many many many more have no clue about all the things one can do or take to use as preventative medication. Same reasons I think they started shooting down Hydroxychloriquine and other medications not listed as 'vaccines'. Medications that have long been used that were suddenly no longer safe.

I believe they did and are doing all of this for the scare factor, for the fear porn, for dictating to the masses and using it as a fear tool to help control the masses. Not like being hypnotized, but when the entire nation has been bamboozled and wearing masks and in fear to the point people are fighting with one another - they can now dictate much more than you think. And it's not the airplanes and traveling and shopping they want to control, but rather using it as an opportunity to infect and control various things within politics, and maybe even slow things down. -- and absolutely no doubt it was used and abused as a fear tool to claim Trump was failing and responsible for killing hundreds of thousands, and now we have a savior in alzheimers Joe.

The logic is that it is better than putting a bag over their head. They are trying to spare the public from looking at an ugly face.

Since we sold our home (now two years ago this month). We have been living in a Seniors apartment complex where....I am convinced (being in Virginia), there are more Socialist, Scared, Easily-led...and equally Uninformed residents than I thought.

Most of them seem to be afraid of their own shadow. So much so, YES they even drive in their cars with MASK'S ON. And God Forbid...either of us dare walk the hallway to get our mail, and run into MASKED (Self-appointed) Mask Sheriff's who would easily report us to the Front office for not observing the MASK rules...and of course..the SIX FOOT RULE.

My wife and I feel we are the Youngest living here...in our 70's, while the others kinda make me want to drop Banana Peels  just to get my jollies. SORRY...That wasn't nice! But it would be fun since I also believe WE ARE the only two living here who CAN HEAR. Thankfully, our walls are pretty Soundproof until we go out into the hall and hear ARCHIE BUNKER or ANDY GRIFFITHS whistling. KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

By the way. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of the Ladies who ARE Mom's. None of us would be here WITHOUT ANY OF YOU!

I wear one long enough to go in the store, get my "stuff" and get out. I respect the stores' Right to require one

I otherwise haven't and don't wear one.

The Pfizer vaccine has been reported to be effective against the Brazilian variant. I admire how Bolsonaro has refused to institute travel restrictions. If you want super-duper discounts, now is the time to visit Brazil AFTER you get your Pfizer vaccine.

Yesterday ... no mask at massage or CVS. Some were wearing makes, others not. Wore mask while in medical facility getting a dexascan and then wore it the 10' from door to table at Mexican restaurant. Did not wear mask on Saturday at Italian restaurant. Mexican restaurant is in a Tucson city limits. Italian is in Oro Valley. They are literally less than a mile from each other. The gun shop I went to last week is in the county so no one, not even staff, we're wearing masks. People are getting fed up.

Not much option here. Blue city. The party of scared to death of covid at Trump rallies but not at all at BLM/ANTIFA riots hasn't loosened up.

You don't know until you try. I go maskless in Austin and get away with it about two-thirds of the time.

I think I get away with it because without my mask everyone gets to see my bitch face. Not one person has said a word.
