It's one thing when this is being discussed in college, but to kids who haven't reached adulthood is another matter. Until such time I don't think that school is the place. These are personal matters that should be discussed or handled in private. There is no need to bring this into teenagers classes and cause controversy.

But then this one is speaking of elementary school. Look, if a child comes to a parent, and they see a psychologist, that's their business. But it shouldn't be in elementary schools at all IMO, let alone being taught or affirmed in some manner.

Teacher Who Said Boys Can’t Be Girls Put On Administrative Leave

A Virginia elementary school gym teacher who told the school board he would not “affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa” has since been placed on administrative leave.

During the Tuesday Loudoun County school board meeting, Byron “Tanner” Cross said he could not, in accordance with his religious beliefs, tell students who are biological boys that they are girls.

“My name is Tanner Cross and I am speaking out of love for those who suffer with gender dysphoria,” Cross said.

“’60 Minutes’ this past Sunday interviewed over 30 young people who transitioned but they felt led astray because lack of pushback or how easy it was to make physical changes to their bodies in just three months,” Cross said. “They are now detransitioning.”

“It’s not my intention to hurt anyone, but there are certain truths that we must face when ready. We condemn school policies [that] would damage children, defile the holy image of God.”

New bullshat from the "woke- idiots" - punishing people that speak the truth.
Boys can not become girls, girls can not become boys..
Reality, science and medical truth prove the absolute truth of that.

Yet the usual crowd, -the dems/libs/progressives/media and their ignorant allies scream that is not reality.
They seem to think fantasy is reality.
That whatever a --disturbed person thinks is reality.
These --idiots-- promoting/backing this insanity are themselves totally ffed up and need to be investigated, imho.-Tyr

Judge Orders School District to Reinstate PE Teacher Who Opposed Transgender Policy

On Tuesday, a judge ordered the Loudoun County, Va., school district to reinstate a physical education teacher who dared to speak out against a policy that would require teachers to endorse transgender identity by using female pronouns to refer to male students and vice versa. Roughly 24 hours later, the district suspended the teacher and barred him from setting foot on school property. The judge ruled that this suspension likely violated the teacher’s First Amendment right to free speech.

“The Court finds that the Plaintiff’s speech and religious content are central to the determination made by the Defendants to suspend Plaintiff’s employment. The Court further finds that the weight of the evidence and the totality of the circumstances, clearly show that the four prongs for issuance of a temporary injunction have been satisfied,” Judge James E. Plowman, Jr. of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit of Virginia, wrote in his order.

Plowman granted Byron [Tanner] Cross, the PE teacher, the temporary injunction he sought. Under the terms of the injunction, the school district “shall immediately reinstate [Cross] to his position as it was prior to the issuance of his suspension and remove the ban that was placed upon him from all buildings and grounds of Loudoun County Public Schools.” The injunction will remain until December 31, 2021.

“Nobody should be punished for expressing concern about a proposed government policy, especially when the government invites comment on that policy. For that reason, we are pleased at the court’s decision to halt Loudoun County Public Schools’ retaliation against Tanner Cross while his lawsuit continues,” Michael Farris, president and CEO of Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the law firm representing the teacher, said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Educators are just like everybody else—they have ideas and opinions that they should be free to express. Advocating for solutions they believe in should not cost them their jobs,” Farris added. “School officials singled out his speech, offered in his private capacity at a public meeting, as ‘disruptive’ and then suspended him for speaking his mind. That’s neither legal nor constitutional.”

Something aint right. I am apolitical on this issue. I look at it this way:
1-I believe all children have the right to be innocent and so not be burdened with issues of sexuality until they are ready;
2-I believe we can and should teach children basic lessons about physical distance, privacy, respect, even anatomy and leave it at that until children are entering an age where they will need to go further and that means slowly introduce mor e complex issues of hygiene, health, consent, but in a non judgementl non politicaland neutral way without reference to sexual preferences until all that I have mentioned was taught in a matter of fact neutral manner;
3-then in grade 7 and 8 after those basics, then we get into the tricky subject about sexuality and it has to be done neutrally without emotion, politics, sensation, to explain today what heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality and transexuality is without complexity and with simple definitions since teens will have been bombarded with hypersexual themses from internet already have preconceived biases and anxieties-our education should differentiate human body function from sexual preference and be neutral and matter of fact based leaving teens the feeling they have choices and should not feel pressured to be or feel anything;
4-I do think children can be taught about body privacy without scaring them when they are younger to protect and street proof but we should wait until grade 7 and 8 to explain pedophila and hebephilia only after we properly explained the other issues.

I think adults mix two issues-understanding how our anatomy is structured and works, with sexology and sexual behaviour. They are not the same. The former can be taught very objectively, the latter is where we get into trouble with peoples' subjective religious and moral values interfering with the ability to teach the subject in a neutral way.

I also do not think teachers should be put in any positon where they are asked to make or state value judgements.

Schools have become political minefields where specific political agendas are being pushed.

I think in this specific case someone got it very wrong thinking they were very correct.

Hi. I am just looking for new places to talk stuff and keep my head fresh. For years I was a lawyer, mediator, professor. Now I teach part-time and act as a consultant but mostly I like my dogs and just keep up the debates with others to keep my mind sharp in a world of Covid 19 isolation.

Very cool. We have another teacher that posts here & a former lawyer I believe. And a small bunch of us love the law and trying to figure a few things out.

A belong to a few legal boards online. Actually, just advice type forums where folks go to looking for some free legal advice. You hit any of these sites? Quite informative for a non-lawyer who likes to learn about the law.

What kind of dogs do you have? Certainly some dog lovers here! I have an Alaskan Husky right now and a little Chihuahua & unfortunately my Pug passed away like 4-5 years back.
