So, masks have beena meltdown issue since almost the start. From military grade gas masks to refusing to evev consider one, and everything between.

If one owned a store and kept the mask rule in place, shouldn't that owner's Rights be considered by the jerk ignoring the policy?

An observation. I was not involved. It's pretty much choice for business owners here. The anti mask guy who was making a bunch of noise about his Rights didn't seem to care about the owner's freedom of choice.

His store, his rules.

I wouldn't serve hippies at my store, because that would be rule #1.

I have always felt the business owner should have right to serve those he wants. As a consumer I can follow their rules or go somewhere else.

Was in Vegas last weekend. Got there Friday night. Friday at noon they put out mandate .. masks for only those vaccinated. Guess what? No one was wearing masks and no asked if we were vaccinated. Some in our party were and some were not. No one wore masks. And a casino in Vegas is definitely a super spreader situation.

I had a doctor tell me about a month ago that I had to take covid test to come see him. Told him no one else asked and when he no longer asked I would reschedule but I'm not taking the test either. Was my choice to not do as requested and I didn't get the exam.

Everyone should have the choice. I just wished mainstream media had allowed more info about the dangers of the Vax to be public before people got the jab so they could make a more well informed decision.

Media hyped it to the point people felt they had to get it.

My stance has always been that a business should have the right to run it however they please. If someone doesn't like it, then take your business somewhere else.

I'm not a fan of putting them on non-stop, but I fully understand that very point, their business, and I understand they represent the entire community not just me.

I also fully get the other side. And there very well may be no alternatives at times but to comply when every store is implementing the rule. It very well may serve them no good purpose. Then again, it may. So in everyone's interest it's best to side with caution, to a limitation of course.

I just made note of the hypocrisy. I throw on a mask for about 3 mi utes a day because I choose to go to that store. I'm not in love with tbe mask and have my govt approved shots. I can go right across the street and not wear one.

So could have the a-hole strutting about without his. Both stores are equally a pain to get in and out of. Guess he was making a point?

Indeed, fight back with the pocketbook, but there is one step to take before that. Be sure to enter with no mask, like a free American should. While a business owner should be able to dictate what people are allowed to wear inside his business, he should also be entitled to know why you are taking your pocketbook elsewhere. Queers are still allowed to request queen wedding cakes at Christian bakeries, right? Have the business inform you of their policy in person, and then you can let them know why you will be taking your pocketbook elsewhere.

To wbat purpose other than some ego boosting grandstanding that is nothing but a waste of time?

If I was not going to a place over a mask, I'd just go elsewhere rather than waste mine and other's time when they don't care.

Item 1: Live free or die. I'll fight for freedom till I die.

Every time we bend the knee to anything covid, we are surrendering a bit of freedom. Every time one of us treats lockdowns, masks, experimental vaccines, or social distancing like it is something medical or health related instead of political, we surrender more freedom.

America didn't go to shit overnight, it happened progressively over a long time. Everytime we accept a small change that erodes our freedom or culture, we damage it even more.

Item 2: Capitalism. Taking your business to someone else who does it better is at the heart of capitalism. Letting a business know why you are going to their competitors is a courteous thing to do.

I'm not sure about that entirely.

Suppose you go to your great grandmothers house and you happen to be ill yourself, and maybe even have a slight case of the flu. Would you go out of your way to interact with grandma and take a chance on getting her sick? And I know everyone is not a relative when you visit a business, but I think the same idea to an extent. When speaking of viruses that spread through the air & asymptomatic cases are abound, there is more potential to make others sick.

That said, don't think I'm all in for their rules and all in believing all they tell us. I think they have lied more than given us the truth (that is Fauci and others reporting to the masses and/or politically connected). I think the total numbers of infected have been lied about, and the same for why everyone died. So many lies.

But I agree with Gunny and not wasting my time. If I go to Stop and Shop for example right around the block, and refuse to wear my mask, they likely will ask me to leave. If I make that point of leaving and why and anything financial related - do you think places like that are going to give a crap? The local workers and managers will just roll their eyes and call the police if I don't leave. They won't give 2 rats asses. That goes for the majority of places I usually go to. Just a fact of life.

Illness is not really relevant to the scenerario, but I agree that one should not go into a business, school, or visit granny if they are ill.

I have been "freedom walking" since the beginning of covid culture, so I know how things work. If you walk into a business with no mask on, like I have described, you will never be asked to leave. When an enforcer interupts your visit, it will only be to have you wear a mask or leave. Enforcers do not initiate their confrontation with a demand to leave. If you do refuse to wear a mask after they have requested it, as you have described, they will indeed ask you to leave. Rightfully so. At this time, you will have a plan of which way you are going to play it. If you have the time or if the enforcer is rude, you can let the enforcer know that you will be taking your business elsewhere. If you are game to submit to their policy in order to finish your shopping, then you smile and put a mask on. Either way,, we don't need to be rude or disruptive.. We are civilized righties, so we don't endanger anybody by walking into businesses while sick, and we don't put up any fuss when confronted over the mask policy.

Cake for thought:

I wonder if allowing stores to mandate masks for customers is about the same as bakers refusing service to anyone for any reason?

Mandating masks is based probably on faith/religion/belief in a higher power to the point the store owner feels a moral obligation to require customers to display obedience to that faith, or refuse service to them. I'm sure some bakers and photographers, etc, also feel moral obligation to also refuse service to some customers.

"Live free or die. I'll fight for freedom til I die". Hackneyed cliche consisting mostly of hot air, usually coming from people that know nothing about freedom or death.

"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose" (Kris Kristofferson). Truth. The second you add responsibility/family/SOCIETY, you give up just that much of what you call freedom that is regulated by the government anyway. Or is it that it's "freedom" because the government tells you so and what it is?

Here's how death and freedom work together: When you die, you are free. Not your body nor its disposition, but your soul at least is beyond the reach of government. For now.

Capitalism: Choosing which cookie cutter box store you wish to shop in. Being a jackass on a pointless errand: Going to a cookie cutter box store for no reason other than to protest that store's policies you disagree with. There's nothing capitalist, nor righteous about it. Nobody cares what you have to say. Especially where you don't shop.

It is profound to see "phenomenal waste of time" sitting next to anything having to do with freedom. It reminds me about a fable about a fox who sees a juicy bunch of grapes...

I think, to an extent, that stores are protecting granny, or the compromised or whomever. That's who they make the decisions based on and want to protect. Not sure though. In places like here in NY, it's just standard almost everywhere still. Sucks for now, admittedly.

Ok, so you go into a business or some establishment not wearing a mask. Eventually a worker or another customer asks you to place your mask on. Initial refusal leads them to ask you to leave. If they are kind about it or whatever, you then place the mask on. If not placing it on, the goal is to then, politely, make it clear you will be taking your business elsewhere.

If it's an interaction with another customer, no point to it IMO as it's no impact to them. If with an employee or the manager, and you make your point abundantly clear, and remain polite, I still say what's the point? Still won't have an impact on them. These folks simply don't give a shit - and most are simply following rules set down to them, whether from the state or folks above them in corporate).

Doesn't mean I disagree with you fully on things, I just don't see the need to waste my time. Just my opinion.

As for being civilized and not going into a store when sick, that's just the thing, one very well may have something and not even know it yet.

Not everybody has the same level of fight in them, and I respect that. I stood on corners waving Trump and USA flags during campaign season, and I pulled flags in convoys, but I still respect my fellow patriots who stayed at home and just watched the news. Not every righty/patriot will agree with or practice my mix of capitalism and "freedom walking", but I know I would still respect their values for the most part. It hurts to see people on our side "surrender or submit" to covid culture, but freedom ain't cheap. It takes a lot of passion and time to be well informed, and I know that not everybody has this luxury. It doesn't mean they aren't our friends.

Don't confuse my stance with submitting. I did to an extent - but certainly not based on what Fauci told me, or Biden or Trump. I made the decision based on many factors, but ultimately made by myself and my family. Admittedly, when I travel and will have to wear a mask on a plane, that will be submitting to an extent.

I just choose not to be public as much with my fighting. Mostly an introvert that hates the majority of people anyway. :)

My comments on surrendering or submitting are generalized toward covid culture, and in a general way. We have already lost some of our freedom, since we must surrender or submit just to go grocery shopping or to walk into a bank. I have had to surrender from time to time as well, just to get some eggs and milk. My personal attitude toward covid culture though, is that it is an attack on my freedom and an insult to those who paid the ultimate price for freedom. Many on our side DO surrender or submit to covid culture too easily but I am not calling anybody out here. In fact, I understand that many on our side simply do not have the time, passion, or life experience to recognize that our enemies are upon us. I absolutely WILL fight for freedom to the end, and I will fight harder and louder than most on our side can or will. I won't pass up an opportunity to fight covid culture, and hitting it with my pocketbook is an easy one. Others on our side may only resent having to surrender or submit to a mask enforcer, but never fight it. That doesn't mean that they aren't our friends.
