I have plenty of hard drive space & 3 external hard drives as well.

No issue there, but have a major issue when playing my music through any player. I like to put my music on shuffle and just let it go. But lately it's been landing on folks that choose to be more political than musicians. And every time it does I then can't help but think about their politics instead of their music. So instead of hitting the FF button as much as I do in the past few years, I figured it's time to do some cleanup.

I had 45.4GB of music in total.

A ton of Bon Jovi got 86'd along with solo Jon Bon Jovi
Yep, lame Taylor Swift music, gone.
Had a Katy Perry album but not anymore.
A lot of Elton John from back in the day and I sent it back.
Also a lot of Springsteen, gone.
There was much more & also a lot of 1 or 2 songs only, from movies and such. How I ever still had "The Rose" by Bette Midler still on there is beyond me.

Anyway, over 12 gig in total and then into the recycle bin and then couldn't hit delete fast enough.

I agree ... time to shit can a lot of stuff. I've given up watching Greys Anatomy (17 seasons). Had recorded a whole season and just deleted one day. Just couldn't take any more virtue signaling. Deleted Station 19. All Rise. This Is Us. New Amsterdam. Blacklist.

I'm down to watching Alone, Mountain Men, Reruns of Fixer Upper ....

TV is the worst. Too many ruined by politics to recall. The Good Doctor comes to mind. When they had the anti-abortion Christian doctor decide she’d like to perform an abortion, I bailed.

Gabby will not approve of you jettisoning Bruce.

I don't have a "music folder." I have a buttload of CDs. My parents have an even more immense buttload of CDs. Even my daughters has quite a few CDs. Though she also has an Ipod. I am surprised that Jim had any Springsteen at all. I don't allow politics to determine my choice of music. I like what I like.

And yes, I had a lot of Springsteen music, nearly every album. Having grown up in NJ, and not far from Bon Jovi, and Springsteen just a tad further down at the time in Holmdel, it was their music all the time. Was way more of a Bon Jovi fan than Bruce, but Bruce was/is huge in NJ. At the time, I was more into regular rock and mostly radio crap, top 40 stuff. And of course not long after all nothing but good rock music. But always had a spot for them, and some softer rock n roll too.

But then came the politics as they both got more and more famous. And that's when I bought less and less of their music and spent it on rock CD's at the time and seeing those bands in concert instead.

And they continued and got much worse since then. I do not turn on music to hear them talk. I don't pay good money on tickets to a concert only to get lectured about politics.

So a lot of music is history now. I literally wouldn't listen and perpetually hit the FF button if their music came on, and the same applied in my truck when I played various USB drives that had their music on it. Was no point anymore. And although I didn't need it, also now have that much more hard drive space.

And ask yourself, do you think for a single moment that either one cares that I did so? Exactly, and neither do I.

:fu: Bon Jovi, Springsteen, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Eminem, Madonna (just one album)...
