NEW YORK

Kevin Federline may be poking fun at his fall from grace by playing a fast-food worker in an Super Bowl ad, but Taco Bell is apparently trying to convince the would-be rap star he as a future "Thinking Outside The Bun."
The Yum Brands Inc. chain has offered to give the man most famous as pop singer Britney Spear's soon-to-be ex-husband a job. Federline gained new notority this week for his appearance in a Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. that will air during Sunday's game, and has generated complaints from the restaurant industry for diminishing their workers.

In an open letter dated Wednesday, Taco Bell President Greg Creed wrote to Federline, 28, to congratulate him on the ad and offer him a gig. The note even quotes an interview from last year in which Federline said his children "are going to work at Taco Bell" to "learn what a real job is."

Creed promised to give away food to customers if K-Fed takes him up on his offer. "Come work for us, just for a one hour shift. We'll get you a uniform, a custom name tag and show you what a great place Taco Bell is to work. We'll even reward customers who visit that restaurant with an order of our new Carne Asada Steak Grilled Taquitos for free."

A representative told E! News that Federline "had a big, big laugh about it." No word yet if he plans to accept the offer.
