Tucker on NSA spying allegations: This is a huge problem for the country
Tucker finds out that the NSA is spying on him. And want to get him kicked off air.

I have to say.
Tucker REALLY??!!
I've been screaming about this since shortly after 9/11 when it was 1st exposed. But many of my constitution lovin' associates on the right LOVED IT.... because terrorism! And many on the left didn't give a crap about it... after Obama was elected and Bush was gone. No One's mentioned it in the past 3 presidential election cycles.

But now it's hit Tucker and suddenly it's a "huge problem".
ya think?

My prediction Tucker, most people will continue to SLEEP on our huge problem.

What I just read as well, he states that not only are the NSA monitoring him, but that they also took emails of his and gave them to the press.

It doesn't make me any more or less to believe it just because it's Tucker. I would also love to see actual evidence that it happened. But that doesn't mean I don't believe him either.

So you're waiting for the Gov't to give you proof? really?

Or are you waiting for and will appreciate AND believe someone like a Snowden or Assange if they illegally give you the proof docs/tapes taken from the NSA?

I'm not being testy with you, my friend! Didn't say that either! :) :)

Evidence/proof can come in many ways and from many places other than our government. I surely don't think the NSA is going to come rushing out with memos and reports. But if things are accessed, it could leave identifying trails. And if things given out to the press, then how that happened may also be able to be tracked somehow. I know darn well that the government will hide and lie at all costs.

Snowden or Assange would depend on a lot of things, and like anything else, whether or not it's solid evidence. But I still wouldn't like them, or the idea of gaining evidence that may help us - but by illegal means. Always willing to hear out ALL the circumstances though!

Just some updates I happened to see on Assange.

He's still got a rough road ahead.

Julian Assange Won’t Be Held in Supermax Jail If Extradited, U.S. Assures U.K.

American government says the WikiLeaks founder, if convicted on espionage charges, can serve any custodial sentence in his native Australia

LONDON—The U.S. government has given assurances to the U.K. that Julian Assange won’t be held under the strictest maximum-security conditions if extradited to the U.S., the latest move in a yearslong battle to put the WikiLeaks founder on trial on espionage charges.

The U.S. has also given assurances that Mr. Assange would be permitted to serve any jail time in the event of his conviction in his native Australia, according to the U.K. Crown Prosecution Service, the public prosecutor’s office for England and Wales.

A U.K. court on Wednesday formally allowed a U.S. government appeal against a January ruling blocking Mr. Assange’s extradition. No date for a hearing has yet been set.

A British judge in January refused to grant a U.S. request to extradite Mr. Assange on the grounds that he would likely commit suicide if incarcerated in a federal Supermax prison and subjected to added security measures, such as solitary confinement, which are common pretrial arrangements in national security cases.

The U.S. has given the U.K. a package of assurances that Mr. Assange won’t be held at ADX, a maximum-security federal penitentiary in Colorado, or subject to extra security measures, a Crown Prosecution Service spokesman said in an email, potentially removing the main bar to his extradition.

UK court allows US to appeal denial of Assange’s extradition

LONDON (AP) — Britain’s High Court has granted the U.S. government permission to appeal a decision that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange cannot be sent to the United States to face espionage charges.

The judicial office said Wednesday that the appeal had been granted and the case would be listed for a High Court hearing. No date has been set.

In January, a lower court judge refused an American request to send Assange to the U.S. to face spying charges over WikiLeaks’ publication of secret military documents a decade ago. District Judge Vanessa Baraitser denied extradition on health grounds, saying Assange was likely to kill himself if held under harsh U.S. prison conditions.

The judge ordered that Assange must remain in prison during any potential U.S. appeal, ruling that the Australian citizen “has an incentive to abscond” if he were freed.

Assange, 50, has been in London’ high-security Belmarsh Prison since he was arrested in April 2019 for skipping bail seven years earlier during a separate legal battle.

Assange spent seven years holed up inside Ecuador’s London embassy, where he fled in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden to face allegations of rape and sexual assault. Sweden dropped the sex crimes investigations in November 2019 because so much time had elapsed.

HYPOTHETICALLY... Of course, I am unable to prove, or verify any of what Snowden, or Assange have said, disclosed, been blamed for...in any way. BUT...Just SUPPOSE...there are thousands of other Americans like me who are retired from military, or govornment service...JUST SUPPOSE...we tend to find much AGREEMENT with what those two have EXPOSED to the World????

Not saying I can, or anyone else can. But that doesn't mean I AM UNABLE, or UNWILLING to somehow agree with what both of them have said over the last 20 years.

There are many things WE (former members of the military, and government) have seen, heard, read, been informed about...in dozens of ways...we are SWORN to never disclose...or we can be rightly called TRAITORS.

So...using the old familiar sentence..."I can neither CONFIRM or DENY anything anyone has read, seen, heard, or witnessed in the past. But that does not mean..What you have read, seen, heard or witnessed is not true, or false.
REMEMBER THE WORDS? "Loose Lips Sink Ships?" Let's stop right there.
This man who recently passed...said it best...

Tucker contacted someone in Putin administration to see if he could interview Putin. He got caught up in the whole we're monitoring Putin. That part is legal. The part that is even more disturbing is someone at NSA leaked the info to another News organization so the media could destroy Tucker. He got ahead of it and is trying to find out who in intelligence community leaked it. That is blatantly illegal.

Computer hacking allegationsEdit (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sharyl_Attkisson&action=edit&section=8)In May 2013, while still employed by CBS, Attkisson alleged that her personal and work computers had been "compromised" for more than two years.[53] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-53) CBS News (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBS_News) stated that it had investigated her work computer and found evidence of multiple unauthorized accesses by a third party in late 2012.[54] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-54) The U.S. Department of Justice (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Justice) denied any involvement.[55] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-55) In her 2014 book, she wrote that a forensic examination revealed that her personal computer was hacked with keystroke logging (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystroke_logging) spyware, enabling an intruder to read all her e-mail messages and gain access to the passwords for her financial accounts.[56] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-56)
In late January 2015, Attkisson appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senate_Judiciary_Committee)[57] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-57) during a confirmation hearing for Loretta Lynch (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loretta_Lynch), President Obama's nominee to replace outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Holder). As part of her appearance in front of that committee, a report by the Office of Inspector General (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_of_Inspector_General) (OIG) was released[58] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-58) stating that "their investigation was not able to substantiate... allegations that Attkisson's computers were subject to remote intrusions by the FBI, other government personnel, or otherwise" and the deletion seen in Attkisson's video "appeared to be caused by the backspace key being stuck, rather than a remote intrusion".[59] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-59)[60] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-60)
In March 2015, Attkisson and her family filed suit in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superior_Court_of_the_District_of_Columbia) against Holder, Postmaster General (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Postmaster_General) Patrick R. Donahoe (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_R._Donahoe), and unnamed agents of the US Department of Justice (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_Department_of_Justice), the US Postal Service (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_Postal_Service) and the United States, alleging that they had been subject to illegal surveillance activities.[61] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-61)[62] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-62) The government then moved (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Removal_jurisdiction) her case to a D.C. federal court, and the case was eventually transferred to a federal court in Virginia.[63] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-auto-63) In 2017, federal judge Leonie Brinkema (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonie_Brinkema) dismissed Attkisson's case, finding that Attkisson's lawsuit failed to allege sufficient facts to make a plausible claim that either defendant personally engaged in the alleged surveillance".[64] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-64)
Attkisson appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Court_of_Appeals_for_the_Fourth_Circ uit) in 2019, which affirmed the lower court's dismissal of the case.[63] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-auto-63) Two of the three judges on the panel agreed dismissal was justified because plaintiffs failed to name specific agents being accused of surveillance, and that they "failed to act diligently in pursuing that discovery", citing "significant periods of inactivity". Judge James Wynn Jr. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_A._Wynn_Jr.) wrote a dissenting opinion (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissenting_opinion) claiming that delays were not the fault of plaintiffs, but due to Justice Department lawyers deliberately using tactics to delay the process and "run out the clock" before Attkisson's lawyers could find those being accused. Judge Wynn found it plausible that "Attkisson never got a meaningful opportunity to pursue her claims".[65] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-PoliticoDissentingSurveillance-65)
Obama administration spying allegationsEdit (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sharyl_Attkisson&action=edit&section=9)In January 2020, Attkisson filed a complaint at federal courts in Baltimore, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia alleging that the Obama administration had spied upon her and her family.[66] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-66) She said in the Maryland deposition: "The plaintiffs first acquired the details regarding key individuals involved in the surveillance in August 2019 from a person involved in the wrongdoing who has come forward to provide information".[67] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-67) In May 2020, Attkisson returned to this issue and said "I would say I may not be one of the first victims, but I am one of the first people who was able to identify myself as a target of illegal spying under the Obama administration".[68] (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharyl_Attkisson#cite_note-68)

Lot of leaking going on. Someone in NSA leaked to Tucker that his emails were being monitored. He called NSA and they kinda, sorta admitted to it.

interesting points,
and nope, I haven't forgotten about that,
But it does makes me think that cointelpro back in the 50s-70s (Same tacits more low tech used against MLK and other "subversives") was just a prototype .

seems the WBush admin took everything to another level after 9/11 and gave Obama the new powers and Trump never stopped or dealt with any of the tools and bureaucracy in place that make it "legal", possible and ongoing.

It's not partisan, whoever is in the executive chair has the tools. Whoever are in the seats of power at the alphabet agencies has the power.
but most people only see the problem when the other side does it. that's part of the reason it's been going on for 20 years now. and most people have a hard time imagining a world where the U.S. gov't and tech oligarchs have easy access everything you do on any device or platform.

I recall following this. While it all adds up to what they are willing to, and what they did in fact do, her spying allegations were against the Obama administration - from 2011-2014 - which is an awfully damn long time to be spying on someone.

And why most likely, at least IMO? She was doing some stupendous reporting on the Fast and Furious & Benghazi. I honestly don't know a ton more from the background on this one.

Interesting. I would love to know more about who leaked this to Tucker and what else they may know> And if perhaps related? Both done by NSA? I'm confident more will come out. And I'm just as confident they will all deny and lie. But in the end, depending on what comes out, it may be something too difficult for them to deny - as in perhaps written proof? Or someone there aka a whistleblower?

The worrisome thing is that those who are supposed to oversee these agencies are being spied on and monitored and are afraid of the very people they are supposed contain.
