And not that any should need much as you should know how to properly handle a weapon already if you own one. And then there is mixing of owning a gun, carrying your weapon, and having it at your place of employment for personal protection. And good up til that point.

So this guy is getting shoplifted at his place of employment, a gas station store. Not to be confused with robbery, this man only was stealing and trying to conceal it.

He tried to steal (4) packs of Red Bull. Depending on which ones and total, it could be between $25 - $54 dollars. And the loss would be attributed to the store, not this guys personal self or belongings.

Now the thief made it out of the store. At that point, the working guy should have called 911 and got them there ASAP with a description and what not. Instead, he went outside to try and retrieve the store property. The guy obviously didn't give it up & the worker tried with “just give it back, just give it back.”

Well, didn't work and the thief tried driving away. And once again, rather than call 911 with a description and now description of his vehicle and plate number - he chose to pull out his 9mm weapon and take the guys brains out the side of his vehicle instead.

THEN, he actually went back inside. He helped a few customers & then he called police finally.

For his incorrect choices - he has been charged with murder.

As he should.

I've taken 4 different courses over the years and all of my trainers reiterated ... your weapon is for defense purposes.

THE ONE and ONLY time you are reasonably expected to use your weapon is..IN SELF DEFENSE, or if you are observing someone else in danger of being fatally injured by another.

We all know we (most of us) would want to do as the store clerk did. But it obviously wasn't in SELF DEFENSE for him to go after the thief and use his weapon...outside of the store (in this case).

That's my opinion. But we all...also know. There's a Breaking Point that is constantly being tested every day, since GOVERNMENTS are choosing to DEFUND the police...and therefore....making citizens weary of even calling 911...knowing the response MAY or MAY NOT Come.
