UPDATED 6:59 AM PT – Sunday, August 8, 2021Moderate Democrats have urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to allow a stand-alone vote on the bipartisan infrastructure deal. In a letter circulated on Saturday, Democrat representatives from swing and Republican leaning districts called on Pelosi to pump the brakes on the partisan so-called human infrastructure deal.
“As soon as the Senate completes its work, we must bring this bipartisan infrastructure bill to the House floor for a stand-alone vote,” reads the letter. “This one-in-a-century investment deserves its own consideration, without regard to other legislation.”
They reportedly state in the letter their concerns with the partisan plan and how they don’t want the bipartisan plan to get caught in the weeds. Meanwhile, Speaker Pelosi has been steadfast in her desire to see both the partisan and bipartisan deals passed at the same time.
The bipartisan infrastructure bill advanced in the Senate on Saturday, however, there are still hurdles to push through before it passes either legislative body.

They aren't "mortgaging our grandchildren's future", as they like to say, anymore. They're mortgaging the Nation's future farther out than it's going to last.

Wonder what it takes to get these "moderates" to figure out the word translates to caving in to Dems.

Putting all the BS "human infrastructure" stuff aside for a moment, do we even have a big need right now for a $1 Trillion bill on actual road/bridge infrastructure? We maintain our roads every year without special $1 Trillion bills for it. Why do we need any special infrastructure bills right now? I suspect all of it is a lot of Dem pork, corruption and entitlements.

States already receive infrastructure monies. It's one of the ways the fed gov't coerces state compliance with Federal BS. The country's already littlered with toll roads, some places more than others, and usury fees that are already supposed to cover cost.

I mentioned in another thread that rolled off the page, I read a part of this where this Bill sets up a "experimental" personal mileage tax. We all know where "experimental" leads to with the US government. It means they need to figure out yet another way to ensure no one gets left out. After we get used to the idea, it'll become mandatory fact. Rest easy though. Because it is designated a "toll", it's not a new tax
