Cuomo resigns following finding he sexually harassed 11 women

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned from office Tuesday, one week after an investigation concluded that he had sexually harassed 11 women and retaliated against his accusers.

At a press conference Tuesday, Cuomo announced that he would step down from the office. His resignation will be effective in 14 days.

The decision to resign spared Cuomo, the son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo who held that position since 2011, a potentially lengthy impeachment trial in the New York Assembly that likely would have ousted him from power.

On Aug. 3, State Attorney General Letitia James announced the results of an investigation into allegations made against the governor by women who worked for or alongside Cuomo. According to James, the report revealed “a deeply disturbing yet clear picture” in which the governor “sexually harassed multiple women, many of whom were young women, by engaging in unwanted groping, kisses, hugging, and by making inappropriate comments.”

Always certain . An odious individual .

But will any of his accusers be strong enough and have the financial backing to take him to court and eventually win ?

Doubt it , but fingers crossed .

Is this a more deeply thought out strategy --- deflection?

From his culpability in the deaths of the elderly etc . Actually damage limitation away from far more terrible accusations ?

Andrew Cuomo has resigned.


Now it’s time to arrest him......**But

Cuomo resigning means two things:

1) he likely agreed to resign in lieu of being prosecuted...so don’t expect criminal charges..

2) he will face no consequences criminally or politically...for killing 15,000 elderly New Yorkers.

We shall see...
