Have always loved snakes which is why Forums are one of my favourite resting places .

Now I aim to help rid the planet of Covid whilst indulging in my favourite hobby
--- breeding , rearing and venom milking Pit Vipers

Brazilian researchers have found that a molecule within the venom of of the Pit Viper can help patients recover from Covid Vaccine killer shots

I am looking for bite volunteers to test venom strength and details .Payment of $1000 a bite with trained specialists on hand with serum which is at least 90% effective .
Live dangerously but become rich if lucky .

SEE HERE FOR SOME DETAILS
The viper study appeared in the scientific journal Molecules this month (https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/brazilian-viper-venom-may-become-tool-fight-against-coronavirus-study-shows-2021-08-31/)and found that the molecule inhibited the virus’s ability to multiply in monkey cells by 75%. This is specifically a a peptide, or chain of amino acids, that can connect to an enzyme of the coronavirus called PLPro, which is vital to reproduction of the virus.
We should, of course, not protect the environment just because it benefits us as humans, but (if sheer environmentalism does not motivate some) self-preservation should. The rapid loss of species in places like Brazil means the loss of possible new drugs and science associated with those species. I have been in the Amazon and I have seen the tremendous density of rare and often fantastic species on display. However, under the government of Jair Bolsonaro, deforestation is continuing as a disastrous rate. (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00508-4) With his government, it has surged to a 12 year high (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-55130304).
The jararacussu can reach 6 feet in length and is found in Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina. Its name literally means “large snake.” This is not the first discovery of medical use of its venom. Researchers previously found angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACE_inhibitors) to treat hypertension and some types of congestive heart failure (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congestive_heart_failure) in the venom.

Just know you will want to be reminded of the various different Pit Viper genus sub divisions --- see chart below .
Unfortunately my two favourites are not there -- the Moccasin and Sidewinder . I have a mortal fear of the latter as they can reach a speedy 30 km/hour. Imagine a nest of them chasing you with their infra red receptors locked onto a juicy part of your body . Sounds heavenly !

Anybody responding with some half baked mention of Snake Oil will be personally visited along with some of my very hungry friends .

I thought I was being chased by a sidewinder once when I was 7 years old. I ran behind a car and it came out from under the car on my side. Turns out it just happened to be headed the same way I was. My grandmother dispensed it with a garden hoe.

I don't believe they actually chase people.

But unless they have read that they should not chase us in Snake Weekly how can I trust any of them ?

Good old British armour needed when dealing with those speed freaks .

Good old British armour needed when dealing with those speed freaks .

I live on a piece of property in Arizona where we have snakes everywhere. We dispatched 3 rattlesnakes in one week on our front patio area. This year we haven't seen any. We no longer dispatch them. We catch them and relocate to one of the nearby packrat nests. They're actually beneficial in keeping the rodent population in control.

This one is a good one. A gopher, or bull, snake.

So how is the Audit proceeding , Sassy ?

Can we rely on you for a full update , result plus outcome forecast ?

As Mr BS and Gopher are constrictors and not venomous it looks as though they are pit vipers that do not meet the requirement for producing an anti Covid medicine .The amount of useless info we

acquire is absurd .

Info about the audit is out there for anyone to ascertain what is going on. Not something I check everyday.

The photo of the constrictor was just to show you what I typically find on my patio.

And the info is not useless. It could save your life knowing the difference.
