It was sweltering inside the nightclub where Alexander was DJing, in the US state of Virginia. Though it was more than 40°C outside, the club’s air conditioning was broken. It felt extra sticky and humid because the club was hosting a special event: a Pokemon-themed foam party, where upwards of 400 clubbers were frolicking in suds.
“I literally had ice packs on my neck in order to not pass out,” remembers Alexander, now 35, of the 2016 event. The heat was also damaging his gear, and he’d had enough. Over the microphone, so everyone could hear, he berated the club owner for lying about fixing the air conditioning and for the equipment-frying conditions. “I’m done,” he said, then stormed out.
Many of us have fantasised about leaving a bad job in a similarly dramatic fashion. Yet far from throwing a temper tantrum, 'rage quitting' is a sign of serious flaws in a workplace: from lax health and safety standards to exploitative working conditions and abusive managers. The Covid-19 pandemic has only intensified the stressors that can lead employees to quit on the spot. But as rage quitting tends to be the culmination of a series of work issues, employers can avoid being left in the lurch by paying attention to the warning signs – before an employee drops the mic on their way out the door.

Just an amusing if not interesting article. Seems to me "rage" anything means one has lost control of one's emotions, actions and the situation.

I had a total rage meltdown in July when a stupid woman hit my car in an empty parking lot while I was sitting in it. I parked at back of lot to avoid being dinged or scratched.

I honked to warn her then screamed in absolute rage when she continued on and hit me. I jumped out to drag the driver out of the vehicle. Thank God I forgot I had a gun in the car.

I haven't been that enraged in years. However, last couple of days I feel like I'm ready to boil over at all the WH bullshit.

And things that never used to bother me are really starting to piss me off. Yesterday at the doctor's office they wanted to do a demographic survey. They wanted to know what race and ethnicity I am. I told them my race is Human and my ethnicity is American.

I don't think I'm doing the rage quitting thing. Now I think I'm in the "my rage might start something" place.

I think many people's 'rage quotient release valve' is getting close to being released.

Just got home from the grocery store. They don't have the dividers to put between your groceries and the person in front of you anymore. I made a remark about that's because they don't want the checkers using them on their customers.. The checker made a remark like well if everybody would get the vaccine we wouldn't have to worry about that

The guy in front of me went ballistic. He called the manager over because he said he is so freaking tired of hearing about covid. Said covid is a scam. So I was sorry I ever opened my mouth.

Everyone's pressure valves are whistling right now.

Personally I think it's all based on look at me. So many people are living online, facebook posts, IG feeds, SC stories, twitter rants... that nothing can pass without them being at the center of it. God help us all if they can even get video of it to show how much they've been wronged.

It's all about "me", and getting attention; especially, if one is being "wronged"

*that would be "wronged" in accordance with I/Me and what I want
