I usually got a time out after the ass beating.

My father didn't need to find a switch, or have us look for one. He wore a Teamsters Belt with the buckle. That was all of the Convincing we needed. Thankfully...never felt it in person, but there were times (my father was an alcoholic too) it came close. It runs in the family tree I guess.
