Things going swimmingly! Let's spend trillions more, that will cost zero.

President of the Chicago Fed Reserve says on CNBC this AM that inflation will be higher and stay with us longer until supply problems are resolved.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2021/10/05/bidens_inflationary_policies_will_be_keenly_felt_a t_christmas_146510.htmlI just spent $20 more on the same amount of meat I got last month.

So far, looking at presents and such, they're up $5-10 so far. Lays potato chips up 50 cents.

Not looking good. I'm looking at doing things the old fashioned way and getting everything for Christmas now and having to bite the bullet and go out and mail it later. I HATE standing in line

Outstanding article!

This should be required reading. This guy gets it.

The sputtering economy clearly compels much of this polling collapse, as a scant 17% of Americans strongly approve of his handling of jobs and economy, while twice that many strongly disapprove at 34%, per the latest Economist/YouGov poll. Biden’s ineptitude on the economy further drives an overall sudden reversal to broad pessimism, as 54% of citizens now believe the country is on the wrong track

For example, propane is used by millions of Americans to warm their homes, and prices have nearly tripled since Biden was elected. The outlook is not much better for natural gas, because those prices are up a stunning 89% since Biden was elected. That price increase should particularly gall Americans since Donald Trump had transformed our country into the Saudi Arabia of natural gas and an energy superpower overall. That inheritance has been squandered by Joe Biden and his misbegotten war on U.S energy. As usual with leftist policies, people of modest incomes will literally pay the price as temperatures drop in the coming weeks.

But since the GOP does not want to help govern all of the above figures and opinions are meaningless.

IOW, those who won't govern will be ruled,

So your definition of "ruling" is going along with the dems? My definition of Republicans ruling is using their rights per their role in our republic to stay the course.

Working on the workarounds:

https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/containergeddon-supply-crisis-drives-walmart-rivals-hire-their-own-ships-2021-10-07/

I've been pulling quite a lot of overtime in the past month. 8 more hours tomorrow, sporting goods has more than 500 price changes, nearly all are increases of 10-25%. For the past month I'm making more than my last year of teaching.

Paying overtime, hiring alternative containers and vessels is not without costs and companies are not going to eat those costs. Those that want the items will pay. Btw, artificial Christmas trees are in and going fast.

Speaking of costs, is anyone delusional enough to believe when the 'rich companies are paying more taxes paying their fair share, they are not going to pass those on? Inflation is the tax on the lower and middle class.
