I really don't like to go the next-step-is-fascism route. But it really is. If you know the differences in ideology that is. ;)

Socialism is the verb to society's noun. Can't have one without the other. Just like "liberal", I never have figured out how it got to be a dirty word. Anyone that thinks they aren't partaking of socialism isn't reading this because they live in a cave and hunt their dinner with tools/weapons they made themselves from scratch. If on the other hand, you have public electricity, public water, drive on public roads and/or use the social infrastructure for anything in any way, you are a practicing socialist.

There can be no honest discussion if one can't define the word being discussed.

The US military is conservative socialist. It's based on teamwork, which is a tenet of socialism. No teamwork? No win. Not for the line troops, their logistics that keep them supplied, nor the families back home. Housing when I was a kid was one big socialist operation. Had to be. Half our dad's were off at war at any given time. Everyone else takes up the slack. As a team.

The same thing I have preached to no avail for years to conservatives who can't get it together enough to win elections. Too busy worrying about I/Me, never understanding that if you don't win first you don't make the rules. Disagree? We're all collectively sitting here at the mercy of two Democrat Senators to deliver something we couldn't get together long enough to accomplish ourselves.
