Somebody needs to do something about these "domestic terrorists". No doubt Puppethead will put them on the terrorist watch list. Can't have concerned parents standing up to and protesting Dem Mayor's doing what's right for .... ummm ....

UPDATED 10:50 AM PT – Friday, October 15, 2021Concerned parents are making their voices heard in New York. The parents of New York City have taken to the streets to protest Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) proclamation to end Gifted and Talented programs in city schools.
The demonstrators gathered on the steps of the New York Department of Education on Thursday. During the event, parents such as Lucus Liu voiced their concern over their children’s education being sacrificed in the name of equity.
“They’re using schools to achieve their version of equity, which involves closing the achievement gap by slowing down education, by taking away opportunities for all kids, by not expanding G&T [Gifted and Talented] into all neighborhoods that currently don’t have the benefit of a G&T program,” said Liu.
Another event speaker, Maud Maron, called for education to simply serve its intended purpose and devoid politics.
“Our schools need to be places of academic excellence, not indoctrination, not giant group therapy sessions,” stressed Maron. “Our schools need to be places where children are learning. They’re learning how to read, they’re learning mathematics and they’re preparing themselves to go to college. They’re preparing themselves to compete in a global world.”

Critics of the Gifted and Talented program have argued it disproportionately favors whites and Asians over Black and Latino students. Mona Davids of the New York City Parents Union argued against this point, claiming the city’s education standards as a whole should be raised rather than accepting sub-standard comprehension of material.
“Every single year we graduate students who are illiterate and innumerate. There should be accelerated programs for all students,” said Davids.
Mayor de Blasio announced the city’s Gifted programs would be replaced by the “Brilliant New York” initiative by fall of 2022. The mayor drew fire when it was revealed his children both attended a Gifted and Talented middle school, leading them both to attend prestigious high schools and universities.

The age old dilemma resulting from the claimed belief in the garbage that all people are equal .

Rather than of equal importance and deserving equal opportunities .Which is more reasonable, imho .

I hate the idea the every single entity in the country should have the exact same ethnic makeup as the population as a whole. So if the overall population of American is 15% Hispanic and 12% Black then the percentage of every classroom in American has to be the same percentages, or else it is racism? That is ridiculuous, and antithema to striving for excellence.

Suppose that were applied to Congress? There are a lot of white Congress members that would have to step down. How about applying it to NYC Mayors? DeBlasio would have to step aside immediately and let another ethnicity take over. How about applying it to professional and college sports? A lot of Hispanic and White players would make the team at the expense of a lot of Black players. And the level of excellence would go down across the board.

There should be some punishment for DeBlasio for trying to do this. Something tough enough that no Mayor would ever try doing it again. How about "Defund DeBlasio"? Empty his retirement and bank accounts, and use the money for an unproven social program. Based on his politics, he ought to be for it.

I've made that "Congress should reflect ethnically the percentage of the population they are" argument for years.

The society I grew up in was driven to excel. Succeed and excel and get rewarded for "more". It's an opportunity to rise above. Dems don't want that for anyone else. Just themselves and their individual causes. Because that's "different"

How about bringing in an elite team to remove him to one of our locations for continual professional assistance and indefinite confinement ?

Like Q , but getting busy and brutal . Just the occasional graphic video report to show how people cannot cope with Hell on Earth .

Is that code for leaving him with you? Brutal. But NOTHING is too good for DiBlasio. Even you. :)

Hopefully I will get 100% of the credit for the "Congress should reflect ethnically the percentage of the population" argument and everyone will have completely and utterly forgotten that you ever said anything on the subject.

If not, then consider it an "homage" ;)

If it got put to practice I could give a rat's rear end who gets credit. The gain would be worth the lack of credit for me :)
