The Chris Cuomo Memorial Award for Worst Quote of the Year

It was a challenging task but an esteemed panel of NewsBusters editors led by MRC President L.Brent Bozell and MRC’s Vice President for Research and Publications Brent Baker boiled down all the biased outbursts from lefty hack hosts, anchors, reporters and pundits in 2021 and declared a winner(s.)

This year we had a tie. The two quotes reflect the stark double-standard seen in the coverage between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump. During his first three months in office, the broadcast evening newscasts showered President Joe Biden with 59% positive press. Four years ago, those same programs were hammering Trump with 89% negative press.

The bias was so strong at CNN they produced not one but two contenders who earned the dubious honor of worst quote of the year, which we’re calling The Chris Cuomo Memorial Award For Worst Quote of The Year.

MRC President L.Brent Bozell announced: “This explains why CNN is now unwelcome even in airports. CNN is to news what Cuomo was to integrity.”

Without further ado here are the winners (followed by the top runners-up):

WINNERS

“If you voted for Trump, you voted for the person who the Klan supported. You voted for the person who Nazis support. You voted for the person who the alt-right supports. That’s the crowd that you are in.”
— Host Don Lemon on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, January 14.

(Lemon is a racist and sees a lot of racism where there isn't any. He saw it in millions and millions of Americans apparently.)

“Those lights that are, that are just shooting out from the Lincoln Memorial along the reflecting pool….It’s like almost extensions of Joe Biden’s arms embracing America. It was a moment where the new President came to town and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms.”
— CNN Political Director David Chalian during CNN’s Inauguration coverage, January 19.

(This is almost as sickening as Chris Matthews getting a thrill up his leg when Obama spoke)

The following is a montage of the runners-up and winners:

RUNNERS-UP

“January 6th was worse than 9/11.”
— Former ABC News chief political analyst Matthew Dowd on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, July 6.

(This is an insult to the memory of the thousands lost on 9/11. And also a lie meant to enrage listeners.)

“Why would you [Republicans] bring back the most odious laws suppressing the black vote, almost by design, since Jim Crow? You want a nice activity? Google ‘Jim Crow Laws’ in states where they existed and compare them to the language, phraseology, and the intention of what’s sold in over 40 states right now, some 250 plus bills. Take a look and be shocked at the similarity….This is becoming some kind of perverse holy war for you guys.”
— Host Chris Cuomo on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time, March 15.

(Cuomo was a liar obviously, first and foremost. But he was also so in the tank for democrats that he fancied him one of them I think. He found ways to lie about republicans on the daily)

“Limbaugh reached millions of listeners via his golden microphone....hardening rural white listeners and weaponizing white male grievance….A guy who took white Americans out there in the hinterlands and fed them a narrative of….‘You’re the victim. The black people, the brown people, the women, the feminazis, they’re taking it from you. They’re taking things from you.’... He called President Obama, ‘Barack the Magic Negro,’ and used his black sidekick as a cover to be able to do that outright racist stuff.”
— Host Joy Reid on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, February 17. Rush Limbaugh’s song parody mocked liberal Los Angeles Times columnist David Ehrenstein’s March 19, 2007 column “Obama the ‘Magic Negro.’”

I've posted about this racist witch so many times.

Since I called her such, here is first page results of her racism:

MSNBC's Joy Reid Is a Racist Sociopath

Joy Reid is a racist sociopath. How else to explain her reaction to Kyle Rittenhouse breaking down in the witness box during his murder trial last week?

“White crocodile tears,” said the hate-mongering MSNBC prime-time anchor.

This is a woman on a seven-figure salary who went to Harvard and has more elite privilege in her little finger than the 17-year-old son of a single mother who was in Kenosha working as a lifeguard when all hell broke loose in the form of BLM-Antifa riots in August 2020.

Yet Reid continually plays the victim and makes her living punching down at white people less fortunate than she is.

No Mainstream 'Journalist' Is More Racist Than MSNBC's Joy Reid

Joy Reid is at it again. Well, she never really ceased her bigotry.

Reid used to run a blog where she often engaged in anti-gay and anti-Muslim rhetoric. The ignoble provocateur eventually figured out that her target audience didn’t like that, so she found a new group of people to hate: the white folks, especially heterosexual conservatives (including teenage boys).

These are Reid’s latest 85 seconds of desperate racial invective:

The Racist of NBC News

Beauty is only skin deep, but in the case of the NBC News race-baiting host ironically named Joy Reid, every bit of her is ugly. She finds race everywhere, especially when it’s not there. It’s her brand, and hate is her medium – her sculptor’s clay. She works in racism the way Van Gogh used paints or Hunter Biden uses crack, it’s where she thrives and all she brings to the table. Inside and out, Reid is the worst person on cable news, and NBC News, which employs her, Comcast, which owns NBC Universal, and every Comcast customer pays her to do it.

In an era of “diversity officers” and other stupid, left-wing virtue signaling creations, Reid is an anomaly. Racism has always been tolerated by the left, Democrats having fostered it the entirety of that party’s existence. But it wasn’t always front and center, featured proudly on cable news, which should really drop the “news” part since none of the networks do anything but pay lip service to the concept.

Now, if you’re a host on one of these former news networks, you have to wrap yourself in racial victimhood while engaging in everything you claim to decry. You have to burn the village in order to save it.

MSNBC Host Joy Ann Reid and Guest Unleash Racist Tirade Against Black Republican

MSNBC host Joy Ann Reid and guest Michael Eric Dyson are now under fire after the two had a meltdown over Republican Virginia Lieutenant Governor-elect Winsome Sears.

As The Daily Wire reports:

MSNBC host Joy Reid and frequent guest Michael Eric Dyson faced backlash online late on Thursday evening after a video clip went viral from Reid’s show that was widely panned as blatantly racist.

Dyson purportedly made the remarks about Virginia Lieutenant Governor-elect Winsome Sears, a Republican, who won her election on Tuesday night as Republicans dominated across the state.

Dyson said:

The problem is here they want, they want white supremacy by ventriloquist effect. There is a black mouth moving, but a white idea through the, running on the runway of the tongue of a figure who justifies and legitimates the white supremacist practices. We know that we can internalize in our own minds, in our own subconscious, and in our own bodies, the very principles that are undoing us. So, to have a black face, speaking in behalf of a white supremacist legacy is nothing new. And it is to the chagrin of those of us who study race that the white folk on the other side and the right wingers on the other side, don’t understand this is politics 101 and this is race, not even 101. What’s beneath 101? It’s the it’s the pre-K of race, you should understand the fact that if you tell black people, look, I support a negro Look, there is a person of color that I am in favor of and that person of color happens to undermine and undercut and subvert the very principles about which we are concerned, you do yourself no service by pointing to them as an example of your racial progressivism.
