I've been concerned about just this, then yesterday Biden green-lighted it.

https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2022/01/19/war-footing-russia-vs-ukraine-and-the-west-n1550738A thought came to me awhile back, as petty and pointless as it is, it's just petty and pointless enough to be Russian: Putin trying to "right and old country wrong" by reversing the results of Oct-Nov 62? Looks like the same game of chicken with tactical positions reversed.

I know saying Russia on the board gets the usual, knee jerk US reaction because we're programmed to respond that way, but from Putin's POV, I'm not seeing a whole bunch of difference between what he's doing and our reaction in 62 to the Soviets using Cuba as a missile launch pad in our back yard. Not on his side; rather, trying to understand the enemy. It's the best and easiest way to defeat him.

Why wouldn't Putin move now? He took Crimea on a weak foreign policy President's watch. Sat quietly through Trump. Minus a Dem miracle, like passing their voting rights BS, Putin is looking at 4-8-or more years of a Republican President in 24.

Given the odds against Putin long-term, I can't wait to see how Biden screws it up

Never mind. Read this before I read Biden's greenlighting Putin. What a weak dumbass

But it will only be a minor incursion. <groan>

Biden is a dimwit and that ignorant knuckle-dragging mouth-breathing square-headed hairy-thumbed troglodyte just green-lit Putin to push on in.
