I am sure it had NOTHING to do with being framed by the left and Hillary Clinton from late 2016 to the present in order to take out a president they found distasteful. The Ukraine invasion certainly is a big part but the article doesn’t take the previous mess into account.

The country is a key part of the 15-nation partnership that has kept the ISS orbiting Earth for 23 years but relations are at an all-time low because of Russia's decision to invade Ukraine.

On Thursday, Joe Biden unveiled new sanctions that he said would "degrade" Russia's "aerospace industry, including their space programme".

Russia's space chief hit back on Twitter, asking whether the US wants to "destroy our cooperation on the ISS".
Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin warned that Russian engines control the station's orbit and location.

"If you block cooperation with us, who will save the International Space Station (ISS) from an uncontrolled de-orbit and fall into the United States or...Europe?" he said.

Can still hear it now as clear as in the 90s: The Russians just declared themselves not communist and can be our friends. We can share technology and everything

Isn't the ISS abandoned? Should probably consider shooting it down. If we still have any technology left to do so.

The only way we can get there now is to ask Elon Musk to ferry our astronauts up and back since Barry the Failure killed off the shuttle program and I am certain we won’t be working with the Russians to get up there any longer.

If I were Musk I would tell Biden’s lackeys to shove it and wait until we had a government that didn’t call him a scumbag and a tax cheat every five minutes. The short sightedness of the left is hobbling us on all fronts.

Elon Musk comes in with the promise of a solution yet again. The left and the loonies in the Biden admin that constantly trash Elon Musk need to slow their roll because he is proving to be a real asset to American interests.

lon Musk has responded to the suggestion by Russian space chief Dmitry Rogozin that the International Space Station (ISS) could come crashing down to Earth, (https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-international-space-station-crash-us-europe-sanctions-2022-2?r=US&IR=T) due to new US sanctions (https://www.businessinsider.com/see-biden-white-house-full-list-sanctions-against-russia-ukraine-2022-2?r=US&IR=T) against the country.

Rogozin, who leads the Roscosmos agency, tweeted (https://twitter.com/Rogozin/status/1496934215333695488) Thursday: "If you block cooperation with us, who will save the ISS from an uncontrolled deorbit and fall into the United States or Europe?" On Saturday, Musk responded by posting the logo (https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1497370602075734021?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5 Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1497370602075734021%7Ctwgr% 5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpublish.twitter.com%2F%3Fque ry%3Dhttps3A2F2Ftwitter.com2Felonmusk2Fstatus2F149 7370602075734021widget%3DTweet) of his company, SpaceX.

The new set of US sanctions on Russia came in reaction to the country's invasion of Ukraine (https://www.businessinsider.com/map-of-explosions-attacks-in-ukraine-as-russia-invades-2022-2?r=US&IR=Thttps://www.businessinsider.com/live-updates-russia-ukraine-crisis-2022-2?r=US&IR=T), which occurred early Thursday morning.

President Joe Biden said Thursday that the "additional strong sanctions" (https://www.businessinsider.com/biden-new-strong-sanctions-russia-mounts-attack-on-ukraine-2022-2?r=US&IR=T) will "degrade (Russia's) aerospace industry, including their space program," per CNN (https://edition.cnn.com/2022/02/24/politics/russian-space-agency-us-sanctions-international-space-station/index.html).

In Rogozin's series of tweets, he claimed the sanctions could have severe consequences for the ISS and "destroy" international co-operation related to the ISS.

Another of his tweets said: "There is also the option of dropping a 500-ton structure to India and China. Do you want to threaten them with such a prospect? The ISS does not fly over Russia, so all the risks are yours. Are you ready for them?"

Musk appeared to confirm that SpaceX would get involved, should the ISS fall out of orbit. A Twitter user asked if that's what the tech mogul really meant, to which Musk simply replied: "Yes."

NASA, meanwhile, said it "continues working with Roscosmos and our other international partners in Canada, Europe, and Japan to maintain safe and continuous ISS operations," in a statement to Euronews (https://www.euronews.com/next/2022/02/25/ukraine-russian-space-chief-suggests-iss-could-crash-into-us-or-europe-as-a-result-of-sanc).
