I can't stand this guy. If he only added 'it's the patriotic thing to do' I would have thought it was MFM.

Others in the administration also reccomended switching to electric cars. There is currently as massive spike in the prices of nickel, of which is needed to build the batteries for these cars. Apparently it's like a 1,000% increase due to the war in Ukraine. I believe much of it comes from Russia, hence the price increase.

Or you can drive slower as Biden states.

Multimillionaire Stephen Colbert Dismisses Soaring Gas Prices: ‘A Clean Conscience Is Worth a Buck or Two’

Let Them Eat Lithium. Left-wing CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert, who boasts a reported personal net worth of approximately $75 million, professes to being entirely untroubled by soaring U.S. gas prices, admitting he takes comfort in the fact he drives a Tesla.

On Monday night the electric car evangelist laid out just why he travels with a “clean conscience” as he commutes into Manhattan while others outside his elite struggle to fill their tanks just to go to work or carry their family around.

“Today, the average gas price in America hit an all-time record high of over $4/gallon. OK, that stings, but a clean conscience is worth a buck or two. It’s important. I’m willing to pay $4/gallon. Hell, I’ll pay $15 a gallon b/c I drive a Tesla,” Stephen Colbert said.

Joe Biden Defiant: Boosting U.S. Oil Production ‘Will Not’ Lower Gas Prices; Electric Cars Will

President Joe Biden adamantly condemned calls for loosening restrictions on domestic energy prices on Tuesday, arguing it would not help lower gas prices.

“Loosening environmental regulations or pulling back clean energy investment won’t — let me expand. Won’t. Will not lower energy prices for families,” he said during a speech at the White House announcing his decision to ban oil imports from Russia to punish Russian President Vladimir Putin for escalating his war in Ukraine.

Republicans excoriated the president’s efforts to restrict domestic oil production, as the average cost of gas reached record highs over the weekend.

The president argued for more electric cars and other policies promoted by the left’s Green New Deal as the solution.

Joe Biden’s America: NBC Tells Americans to Drive Slower to Save Gas

This is Joe Biden’s America.

Gas prices hit a record high of a national average of $4.173 a gallon on Tuesday.

Joe Biden will announce a ban on Russian oil imports which will send gas prices soaring… again.

Instead of resuming the Keystone XL pipeline and unfreezing new oil and gas drilling leases, Joe Biden is begging Venezuela, Saudi Arabia for oil.

Meanwhile, Americans are being told to drive slower to save gas.

“Try to group your trips together, accelerate gradually… anticipate your stops – when approaching a red light, let your foot off the gas as early as possible,” NBC said. “On the interstate, experts recommend reducing your speed.”

This is not news to anyone who's been reading about greening for the past 20 years. Yet, rarely have I seen much in MSM and certainly not from congress critters on the right.

I'm pro-environment, but also pro-people. The left acts as if EV is THE answer, yet the problems with such massive batteries is not just the creation of them, but also the disposal. They've become silent on further possibilities of developing new technologies. They refuse to discuss interim steps that could be taken, made clear by ridiculous statements the administration has made in the past few days.

Solar? It's great in AZ and Southern California, but CA is in process of taxing surplus to overcome the recouping of costs to install!

As I understand it, they want to take the surplus from the SW/sunny places and sell it in the shady places. Only way they can do this is to nationalize it. So we with all the solar and wind power would still face the same prices and shortages as Dreary Eerie.

Any way it's presented, the consumers are the ones that get screwed.

Biden needs to shut up. He is just flat-ass stupid as a red brick.

As the article points out, mining whether for coal or minerals isn't environmentally friendly. So, let's talk about how mining differs between 1st world and less. Same with processing. Not going to find 7 year olds like in Dickens' time, in 1st world. Alternative ways of both extracting and processing and treatments of both products and byproducts has already had demonstrable improvements regarding air and water and worker safety.

Again, it's not about dumping on alternatives, it is about getting through both development and improvements, unthought of alternatives. It's about helping 2nd and third world lower emissions and clean up waterways. Has always seemed to me that our government should work on getting our 'competitors' to get their reduction percentages in line with our own.

Speaking of competitors, seems there is growing body of evidence that Russia had real impact on pushing the greening through money, propaganda, aimed at progressives. Think of Soros hitting on impact of funding DAS for office and impact on crime and dividing the country.
