Probably because it doesn't mean what they think it means.

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.

You don't think what's going on at the border is an invasion?

The federal government’s failure to secure the border and protect Arizona from invasion is dangerous and unprecedented,” Brnovich wrote. “Thankfully, the Founders foresaw that States might need to protect themselves from invasion and made clear in the Constitution that States retain the sovereign power to defend themselves within their own territory.”

It doesn't matter what I think, it matters what the Federal government thinks and various Federal courts. But I do think that the British, French, Canadian, and Mexican armies are not invading our colonial frontiers.

In my opinion a point is being overlooked here.
That being-- are we a sovereign nation or not?
A sovereign nation not only has borders but also enforces the legal restrictions on those borders.
It is illegal to cross those borders without the required paperwork- without given permission under law..
Hence the vermin now crossing are in fact--invading for occupation-- not invading for war.
But the word --- invading ----is ffing correct...
To state otherwise as does the dem party, its acolytes and others, is in my opinion either done so out of bias, ignorance or utter stupidity or political loyalty/gain.
Point for Americans that contest that premise-- ok, go try to cross into N. Korea, China, Russia, etc.
And see how fast you get shot....
Thus-- where is the outcry about that --"injustice"", I ask of the people crying it is not invading a sovereign nation but instead merely "A MIGRATION"...
I was not taught to swallow the million shades of gray bullshit..
We are either a nation-with laws-- or else we are not..
That shades of gray reasoning-bullshat-- is sickening to me.
I totally reject it and also any of the millions that utter the ffing dem/lib nonsensical blatherings..
Our Constitution backs my stated views/contentions..- :salute:

*****

Another point--let them try to come onto my property (invade/migrate) and see how fast they get to see my gun pointed at them and me telling them to vamoose or if need be-- else face a fast-flowing volley of lead.
Some of us were not taught to be either leftist/lib/dem fools or ffing cowards, imho..

SO SPEAKS, a real American.
Not a publicly educated to be, a brainwashed, blinded, utterly nonsensical herd following -leftist voting POS.. -- Tyr

Not armies. The governors responsibilities are to protect his state. And if federal government won't or can't they need to step up. States rights.

Pretty hard to classify anything as an invasion then. Are these states rights different than sanctuary city states rights?

If a busload of Illegals arrived in your neighborhood, and BIDEN provided housing for them in every house other than yours (the government bought). Would YOU personally call that an INVASION?

I'm impressed. Not only have you pretty much described antonyms of INVASION you've suggested that biden has both committed treason (if you had actually described an invasion) and violated the 3rd Amendment. :slowclap:

It is up to the Federal government to carry out existing law, and protect the sovereignty and the citizens of the US. It's doing none of the above. States have the Right under the Constitution to defend their own borders against invasion.

I won't disagree that you are correct in actual application that the Fed Government does what it wants, Constitution or no, and usually gets away with it. That does not however make it right.

Absolutely correct you are.
As comes from the dilemma of this nation now having a political party that has now turned treasonous....
Thus, our nation being faced with how to deal with that reality-- without resorting-- to the epic, calamitous tragedy and death/destruction of a horrendous civil conflict(civil war).
None of which would have came to be -except for the fact that 1. our public education system and 2, our mainstream media having been taken over by leftist/socialist/liberal elements within the dem party;
DEM PARTY--currently engaged in open treason.. A fact...
They have spent over 5 decades making that be viewed as "just politics as usual"..
Sad, tragic but true... :saluting2:
Some of us are not blinded by their lying, their arrogance, their inflated godlike false images and their love of all things perverted, dark, evil , wicked and unamerican... -Tyr

The right in this country are too much like NATO/UN. We just sit and watch the left nickel and dime our Rights away until we're going to wake up one morning and they're going to be gone.

No one thinks anything is worth fighting for anymore.

Unfortunately the states are barely an entity anymore let alone being able to take action against a misdefined group of people coming across the border. If we want things to be better we better start winning some elections and start passing some laws.

If you are referring to the term "invasion", it could be right. Putin has sent less Russians into Ukraine than Biden has let across our Southern Border.

I'm just saying a group of immigrants aren't really classified as an invading army. Especially if the powers-that-be in DC do not agree with you.

fj comes here using the practiced rhetoric, and semantics game that impressed fj. You sure can tell when our WOKE member is so proud to come here and demonstrate the PERPETUAL, LIBERAL WOKENESS so well. Thanks fj.

If the powers in DC disagree with me I really just don't care. They long ago proved themselves unworthy of such. It is at MY convenience that I live within their stupidity.

For now. There's a whole World out there and I've seen a lot of it. This country is no longer at the top of the GOAT list. And I AM shopping :)

In the meantime, was I the Governor of AZ, I would just do the same thing Abbott is: buying criminals one-way bus tickets to DC. They created the problem. They can deal with it.

Regardless semantics, an invasion is pretty much exactly what is going on. Should come visit. I can show you around :)

Thanks fj.

My pleasure (that's what they say at Chic-fil-A which is my favorite fast-food restaurant(oops, not very woke)) but words mean things; This may help.

It's not like I'm saying I disagree very much it's just that AZ is not going to send the Guard down to the border and open fire on unarmed poor people and I'm guessing that the legal opinion as referenced in the OP will not give them much cover.

The legal opinions seem to always support the Dem narrative. If they don't, the Dems will find another court to file in that will render the decisions they want.

It's a no win situation. Keep them out by force and you're abusing some poor peasants. Don't, and they wreck our country.

I've seen some dumb people in my life, not limited by borders. I find it hard to believe any "poor, little peasant" and the most uneducated level doesn't know he/she is breaking the law. They don't care. They want what they want regardless the law, and that's what prequalifies them with the Dems.
