The U.S. Army (https://www.foxnews.com/category/us/military/army) on Friday said that roughly 40,000 National Guardsmen and 22,000 Reservists who have refused to get vaccinated against the coronavirus will be barred from their duties, effectively cutting their pay and benefits.
"Soldiers who refuse the vaccination order without an approved or pending exemption (https://www.foxnews.com/health/new-vaccine-option-troops-religious-concerns) request are subject to adverse administrative actions, including flags, bars to service, and official reprimands," an Army spokesperson said in a statement to Military.com.
This would be how you do it in the US Military. Threaten pay, promotions and/or careers of those who don't get in line. Lloyd Austin a disgrace to the US military.

You'd think the brass would know something about fighting based on old intel. Oh that's right; political farce.

ALL of those members can, and should be suing the U.S. Govt for BREECH OF CONTRACT.

Those Americans, men and women ALL HAD TO SIGN A CONTRACT with the GOVERNMENT before they even wore their uniform the first time.
THERE SHOULD BE A LARGE LAWSUIT coming if only ONE of them understands what the GOVERNMENT promised them...per CONGRESSIONAL, and PRESIDENTIAL orders.

Socialist dems, attack our Constitution, our rights/freedoms, our finances and our military.
They wage an undeclared war upon us as we in a brainwashed, collective blindness ignore what they are truly doing.
Very Sad and Tragic, dare we remember how Rome (ITS LEADERS) entertained the masses with huge arenas, wild beasts, fighting gladiators and bloody games???
After all, we are just a modern day version of the Roman Empire-- OUR FIRST TWO EMPERORS BEING, THE SCUM THE TRAITOR O'BAMA, NOW THE SCUM THE CORRUPTED IDIOT THE O'BIDEN.
Remember Rome was not built in a day.
One World Government is being formed, imho.-Tyr

Won't fly. You know the drill. Article 92, UCMJ. Failure to follow a lawful order. Punishment is usually commensurate to the crime, but does not have to be. It is at the Command's discretion.

The individual refusing to carry out the order is in breech of contract first.

Now, all the sea lawyers and wordsmiths can argue until they're blue in the face. Opinions do not make an order unlawful. Only Higher authority can countermand an order. Since DoD, that sorry excuse we have for a President and most of the rest of the World is on board with the vaccine, winning this one has a bout as good a chance as me growing a full head of hair :)

@abouttime .. I'm not an expert on reserve/Guard contracts. I know if they aren't allowed to train their one weekend a month (two days that = four when they count them) and/or 2 weeks during the summer, they don't accrue time toward retirement, nor receive pay. If they miss enough they just get administratively shit canned.

Add to that, I'm not sure at which point anyone thinks this Administration gives a damn about the law, but degrading the ability of the US Armed Forces appears to be high on their list of shit to do.

Sorry if I sounded so uninformed. I know about Art 92. I was just pointing out the REAL legalities IF we had Anybody but the YES MEN in the Pentagon who were there to be HONORABLE and FOLLOW their own OATH.
OF COURSE IT WON'T FLY. That's where the MURPHY'S LAW, and CATCH-22 go into effect. Which equals "F U B A R".
Since we have NO Commander-in-Chief, and an even lesser SECDEF who has kissed so many asses...YOU CAN SEE HIS LIPS LITERALLY TURNED BROWN. (for anyone who is offended by that...FOAD.

My opinion now of what is right or wrong/legal or illegal is a far cry from when I was on active duty and part of the system. It's like a bad marriage where you're the one being cheated on and last to know -- you're on the inside and too close to the issue to see it objectively from any universal standpoint.

When we were in, we had to make decisions every bit as controversial and life-impacting as this current one with the vaccine. Remember 81 when they came out with an efficient, inexpensive piss test for pot? Up to then, our barracks looked like a scene out of Platoon. One wing was enveloped in a cloud of smoke, they other the dumpster was over-filled with empty beer cans and Jack bottles.

Hard to imagine now, or for someone that wasn't there, but it was a BIG deal. Quit smoking pot or get kicked out. Around the same time they really came down on alcoholics, just not as hard, but they started. We lost a LOT of people who who just took the discharge. We had a "grace period" where if you got popped they'd let you promise to quit and piss you a lot until they decided you were clean enough. We lost a lot of people who took getting burned and OTH'd out.

We had to deal with the beginning of PC and promotion quotas by race and gender beginning mid-late 80s. That was when my eyes opened to the fact the military was a social experimentation ground for the government because you just couldn't say no.

A bigee for me was Clinton's Balkan War and Marines being farmed out to the UN to serve under other countries' commanders. Some Marines refused and I was going to as well. I didn't sign up to serve the UN and/or under some French POS. To me, THAT was a breech of contract I was willing to stand on. Those that did, lost. They got burned and kicked out. Art 92.

Then there was the anthrax vaccine mid-late 90s. Take the shot or get burned and kicked out. Art 92.

Unfair? Depends on which side of the window you're on. Unlawful? Prove it. That's always been the issue. Proving an order unlawful.

As a Marine GySgt on the line, if you refuse to take a vaccine and it has the potential of affecting the efficiency of my unit's ability to accomplish the mission, you're gone. I don't care whether or not you are right or wrong. Don't care about politics nor all the wailing and gnashing of teeth. I care about unit cohesion and effectiveness. We're part of the machine and you're a broken part that can be replaced.

On the other hand, if I choose to walk for whatever reason, I accept the responsibility and consequences for that decision. The machine isn't going to change. I can be replaced.

Meantime, while pondering these decisions, I was a single parent. Not like my decisions put just me on the street.

Remember the LtCol that called out Biden? I don't remember his name. Haven't seen it since a couple of weeks after the "new" wore off somebody standing up to Command. He accomplished nothing but a temporary glitch to the system. And threw away his and his family's pay and entitlements and retirement.

I can go on and on and on. They're not going to beat the system. Especially when this administration is Hell bent on getting rid of anyone worth a shit that can think for themselves and replace them with those that will willingly comply with their bullshit political brainwashing.

Wonder how efficient a military brainwashed to hate itself is?

@abouttime

Here we go. As I was pointing out.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/army-suspends-retired-three-star-general-tweet-sent-jill-biden

This is absolute bullshit and abuse of power but the Army under Lloyd Asshat's reign is going to get away with it. Not only suspended from his position, but under investigation. For what? Being a smartass?

THIS is going too far, IMO. But Austin gave fair warning he would go after retirees. He can go fuck himself.
