I know most don't care, but it ain't going away because it's being ignored.

In his nightly address on Saturday, Volodymyr Zelensky said any soldier firing on or from the plant would become "a special target" for Ukraine.

He also accused Moscow of turning the plant into a Russian army base and using it as "nuclear blackmail".

Russia seized the facility after heavy fighting in March.

It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, and situated in a strategically important location in the southern Ukrainian city of Nikopol. Ukrainian technicians still operate it, despite the site being under Russian occupation.

Earlier this week, the facility came under artillery fire, which Moscow and Kyiv blamed each other for.

During his address from Kyiv, Mr Zelensky said that Russia had engaged in "constant provocations" by firing on the plant and said forces stationed there had used it as a base to shell Nikopol and the nearby city of Marganets.

"Every Russian military officer who either shoots at the plant, or shoots under the cover of the plant, must understand that he becomes a special target for our intelligence, for our special services, for our army," the president said.

He added that "every day" of Russia's occupation of the plant "increases the radiation threat to Europe".

Ukraine's defence intelligence agency also accused Russia of a provocation by parking a Pion self-propelled howitzer - a type of tank - outside a nearby town and painting a Ukrainian flag on it, in an attempt to discredit Kyiv.

Ukraine is in Eastern Europe, bordering Russia. People from here would crap their pants if they had to live in Eastern Europe. Or fill their Pampers with tears. Of course it isn't like Western countries. That's obvious by the fact they're fighting back.

About 15 threads could be started by your comment. The guy has been made a hero by the western media and social media. I don't think the guy can walk on water like those outlets say.

I didn't say Zelenskiy walks on water. I will say he was an actor and comedian who took charge of a Nation to defend itself against the unprovoked aggression of Russia. I have zero problem admiring him for stepping up to plate and leading. I'm a real stickler for it. That's the only thing I am aware he has been made a "hero" by the Western media for.

Why shouldn't they? He's doing what they won't. The ONLY way this ends without NATO/Western military involvement is if Ukraine kicks Russia's ass. The ONLY way.

I'm all for rooting him on since he's doing the dirty work.

You don't. The media does or did. Should he prevail it would he interesting to see how woke he is and how media handles that.

Edit. Was supposed to quote your last post.

Edit. Was supposed to quote your last post.Woke? An Eastern European? Not seeing that. One thing I don't recall well is that Zelenskiy is not a politician by trade and was put in office because his predecessor Poroshenko was corrupt. Then he had to deal with this. Hardly enough time to get his hands real dirty. Does replacing just Poroshenko mean the government isn't corrupt? Nope. Especially since it appears more Western European than Eastern.

I look at the tactics and possible strategies, the players, etc and watch what is happening, how and why. I really don't focus on Zelenskiy. I can tell you this from a troop's POV:

I would follow a person like Zelenskiy who's out front leading any day and would not take the field for Joe Biden nor Obama.
