The military's capabilities and it's pussy, politically-appointed leaders are two different things.
The US is theoretically capable of fighting the entire rest of the World in a conventional war to a standstill. Current "leadership" can't even get us out of Afghanistan without causing an international crisis.
Kinda like having a Dodge 440 Magnum under the hood and a Ford C-5 tranny. All the power in the World going nowhere because of wimpy drivetrain.
