Well-meaning article that IMO addresses the wrong issue. Not surprising. The issue addressed basically is security for politicians due to increasing political violence.
What about everyone else? Address the increasing crime EVERYWHERE and hand out some punishments EVERYWHERE that would make these criminals think twice about just acting out their impulses knowing they'll be out on bail in time for dinner.
I don't care what anyone says nor whose poor little psyche it hurts to punish these idiots and send a message.
As things are now, anyone walking out the door without so much as an attention-getting pocket pistol is taking their chances. I'm not going to the hospital over groceries and I won't be held hostage in my own house.
