After listening to this speech he gave 60-ish years ago, I would say he would currently be overqualified for the position, and he was as spot on about now as he was then.

I was not a Reagan fan. Yet, having been not only governor of CA, most certainly an executive position, he's previously gained executive experience with the union leadership position-for years. He knew how to build bridges and coalitions. He could talk with some hyperbole, but worked for getting things done with LEGISLATION.

Reagan made you believe he cared. About the country, about its citizens, about doing what was right. Whether those things were true or not doesn't matter, he made you think they were. Bush the senior may have the last President to come close to pulling that off... Jr just after 9/11.
