The BBC update. Got a sick grandkid so I don't have time to pick through the stories. Maybe tomorrow :) I'm intrigued as to Poland/NATOs reaction besides the usual blustering about indignantly.

there are couple of reason i find the idea that Russia bombed Poland ... unlikely.
!st is the obvious.
Russia/Putin does not want war with NATO. It makes no sense.
He's barely dealing with the NATO poxy war in Ukraine and they couldn't deal with Afghanistan.
Seems unlikely.

Here's a map of the region.
I find it... unlikely that Russia would make a mistake off by that much. Rocket leaping over ALL of Ukraine or Belarus.
Seem unlikely.
(Also it's my understanding that if mistakes are made of that nature that all parties are notified to deal with it... please correct if I'm wrong here)

But the question comes up to me at least.
"Cui bono" ..."who benefits"?
What neighbor of Poland wants NATO to join in the war?
What neighbor of Poland (or friendly ally) might have access to Russian rockets?

Wouldn't be the 1st time something like this happened to instigate war.

Or try to instigate war.
Like in the Syrian Gas attacks that were blamed on Assad but the OPCW and others finally showed that in 2013 and the later "attack" that it was NOT done by Assad but by that the "rebels"/terrorist.
To draw in the U.S. against Assad.

....
Gulf of Tonkin! > Viet Nam War > sooory fake news/false flag... but it was to spread some FREEDOM!
Incubator babies! > Gulf war I > sorry that was fake news/false flag but well um WE WON didn't we?!
Aluminum tubes, Yellow Cake, Mobile Chem factories!!! WMDS!!! Iraq 911!> Iraq war, opps sorry "bad intel"
2013/2017 Assad !!!SARIN!! Gassed his own people!! > Opps.. well actually mumble it was the rebels never mind.

Is there a pattern here that reasonable people might consider as an option?

Couple of different stories going on. Stoltenberg (UN) playing semantics. "Poland was not targeted". Sure looks like it got hit:rolleyes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PxAbE8UutI

Then there's Joe Mealymouth saying "Unlikely that Russia launched Poland strike". Good thing the guy that is supposed to be sharp as a tack and make split second decisions that could determine the lives of billions is on the ball

Then there is this:

https://www.reuters.com/world/poland-blast-caused-by-missile-fired-by-ukrainian-forces-incoming-russian-2022-11-16/

Plausible. Even if this last is true, it definitely shines a light on Russia firing missiles anywhere near NATO countries. Ukraine has a Right to defend itself.

Not to the naysayers of course. Ukraine should just surrender to stop the bloodshed.

In the end, if Russia was not firing missiles, this wouldn't have happened.

And of course the conspiracy theorists are weighing in with the narrative that Ukraine fired on Poland on purpose to drag NATO into the war.

14238Wouldn't surprise me. I've seen munitions do some crazy shit.

No telling who to believe at this point. Chickenshit NATO wishing it was true? Zelenskiy who has made no bones about his desire to see NATO involved? In his position I can't blame him a bit.

Russia who IS the one shelling Ukraine?

Faux pas on Zelenskiy's part denying it was a defensive Ukrainian rocket if it was which can be proven.

I'm still not blaming him for wanting NATO help, nor excusing a-hole Putin for starting the whole damned war. Those against any involvement try to pretend that last point doesn't exist or isn't relevant.
