If I'm DeSantis, I don't run as long as Trump is around to put the death touch on me as he does everything else he touches. There's no avoiding the elementary school playground bully if you go out to recess. So don't go.

From the POV of what's best for the country, both Trump and Biden should recuse themselves. The RNC should get some organization and some balls into its ass and squash any notion of this "17 candidates destroying one another for the Dems on nation-wide TV".

I could go on all day. The GOP is a mess and needs an overhaul. Trump is not the answer unless you're a Dem. DeSantis needs to steer clear of Trump's vortex circling the drain.

I don't think there's a downside if he does run against the man-child and even eventually loses. He has to concentrate not to take the buffoon's bait though and if he runs a clean campaign, gets beat, and trump loses he can say "don't blame me, you wanted the sore loser."
