Free articleI may have to read this book. At a glance, it doesn't appear much different from what I've been saying over the years. The answer to the question in a nutshell is no, we aren't ready for war. Not in any way, shape nor form. An obviously neglected military aside, the people of the US are not ready in their heads for a war. I don't mean in the sense of wanting one. I mean being mentally prepared to deal with the realities that war brings. Spoiled, lazy, uniformed people who argue about stupid, pointless crap relentlessly and believe their "Rights" trump the survival of the Nation don't make for a formidable adversary.

Then there's current government with its head up its ass that thinks questionably superior technology trumps sheer numbers in war. Not how it works. Industry government itself has put out of business with politicians pandering self and idealism rather than reality and the Nation.

Minus a 180 in attitude, there's not a lot going for us. Lest we forget, we've let enough anti-American tools into the country to create a formidable domestic terrorist force.
