TUUSULA, Finland - At least seven people died when a gunman opened fire at a school in southern Finland on Wednesday, hours after a video was posted on YouTube predicting a school massacre.

This is sad. I was shocked to read that Finland has the third-highest per capita ratio of handgun ownership in the world. Guess more guns doesn't always mean more safety.

The Youtube video is an interesting aspect of this. After Columbine, it became hard to convince kids that they wouldn't become instant celebrities if they followed suit, now with technology being what it is, not only can they become famous, they can have a hand in crafting their own international fame. It's scary.

Could be irrelevant if guns weren't allowed in the school, but yeah, allowing guns and having guns there when you need them are two separate things.

As far as the shooting, last I heard, police were still in a stand-off. Glad to hear it finally ended, though the body count is seven higher than I originally heard.

Yeah, I was just kinda being an antagonist there. Sad situation, though. How sad is it that the story wasn't shocking to me until I found out it wasn't in America?

More guns NEVER means more safety.

More guns means more death.
