Balestra Capital, a $350 million New York hedge fund, was up 3% for the past three market sessions, when the Dow Jones Industrials, spearheaded by widespread declines in financial stocks and fears of more billion-dollar-plus asset write-downs, tumbled more than 677 points, or about 4.5%. The Nasdaq fared worse, skidding about 7%, triggered by across-the-board declines in those fast-stepping technology stocks.

Thanks Jim, I've avoided getting into this for the simple reason that I figured by staying out of it it might be contained as it was becoming obvious that a cross board flamefest might ensue. When that's where it seemed to being dragged, I started forwarding the pm's to the administrators.

When I saw No1 come over, I contacted him via pm's. Told him what was happening and he told me what was being said. I referred him to the "threads", of which there were more than one. I decided to forward one of the pm's to him, knowing he wouldn't betray Jim or use it in any untoward way. (Jim didn't know I did that, I'm writing it so maybe this stops now and for all.) To the best of my knowledge, knowing now the conversation between him and Jim, I think there are no worries about the two boards.
