After reading Peggy Noonan's article today (here (http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/), thru 11/30/07), I got to thinking. Are there religions that would cause people to absolutely not vote for a candidate, like JFK's Catholicism or Mitt Romney's Mormonism? Thus, this poll.

I hold the line at Wiccans! :laugh2: Got to have some standards.

I voted Wiccan as well. I'm tired of all these Skull and crossbones, secret society conspiracy theories.

I'd prefer atheist and agnostic to be separate choices. I'd never vote for an atheist, but I don't have any problem whatsoever with an agnostic.

Wouldn't vote for an evangelical, mormon, or wiccan.

The only one that would actually be a threat is the muslim.

I must say it really would depend on how they practice.

i dont think id draw a line anywhere. I mean naturally id probably be very hesitant to vote for a muslim, particularly in light of the war on terror. But if there was no war in terror, i would be far less hesitant if i felt they were the right person.

Id feel the same way with just about any other religion. if i feel they are the best person running and they arent militant in their desire to force their religion on us or pose any national security risk in their position, i would contemplate it. However, it seems to me that as a religious man that i would necessarily share the same values as other people so i might be less inclined simply because they share different values more than their specific beliefs in God.

Like i said, it depends.

I don't have a definite WILL NOT VOTE FOR. I do have some that would cause me to do a double take and seriously investigate them. Muslims and Atheists come to mind.
