Mike Huckabee is one of the worst choices Republican’s have in this Presidential race. Here are a few reasons why.

Mike Hucklebee who claims to be a Republican and is registered one but doesn't seem to be one. While Governor he raised taxes more then any other Republican Governors and even most Democratic Governors. People also keep saying that he was Governor for ten years and that he was but people need to remember at first he wasn’t elected Governor, he assumed office when his predecessor resigned. During both re–elections he won by a slim margin not a great landslide his supporters say happened. He was Lieutenant Governor for Governor Tucker who resigned because of Bill and Hillary’s Whitewater scam. He took over the remaining two terms of Tuckers term. Right before Hucklebee was sworn in due to demands from the citizens and voters of Arkansas Governor Tucker announced that he was going to withdraw his resignation. As you can imagine Huckabee threw a shit fit and made several threats towards Governor Tucker the least being impeachment proceedings. Huckabee wanted the power, control and title of Governor. While Governor he had numerous controversies.

One of the contraversies is the notorious Wayne Dumond case. Wayne Dumond was a high risk sexoffender and rapist. Huckabee became friends with Wayne’s wife before taking office and promised her that he would get her out of jail. Dumond was coming up for Parole and Huckabee went to the Parole Board and demanded Wayne Dumond’s release. The Parole Board after talking to prison staff and psychiatric doctors who deemed him an extremely high risk to re-offend announced that they would not Parole Dumond. This infuriated Huckabee and he threatened the Parole Board that if they didn’t Parole Wayne that he would commute his sentence and Governor Huckabee even announced at a press conference that he planned to commute the sentence. The Parole Board realized that if Wayne’s case got commuted he would be set free with out having to be monitored or even kept track of. This was a very scary though to the board and they didn’t want to see him out of prison at all let alone without any supervision so they granted him parole so at least they could strongly monitor him. After he was released Wayne brutally raped and murdered a woman. This is exactly what medical and prison officials said would happen.

Also after taking office when Governor Tucker resigned Huckabee got in trouble for ethic’s violations. On May 22, 1998, the Arkansas Ethics Commission fined Huckabee $1,000 for failing to report campaign payments made to Huckabee and his wife. In October, 1998 the Arkansas Times suggested that Huckabee used a fund set up for the maintenance of the Governor's Mansion for his own personal use. The Arkansas Times also reported that Huckabee was listed as the recipient of furniture given to the Governor's Mansion and not the Mansion itself. This is just one example of a number of contribution violations he had.

He also has raised taxes more then a Liberal. On April 1, 1999, Huckabee signed into law a 3-cent increase in tax on gasoline and a 4-cent increase on diesel. Next On March 7, 2001, Huckabee signed a tax on private nursing homes for $5.25 per day per non-Medicare patient. On May 8, 2003, Huckabee signed into law increases in cigarette and tobacco taxes as well as a 3 percent income tax surcharge.

Another Contribution violation occurred in November 2006, both Huckabee and his wife drew criticism for creating wedding registries in the amount of over $6000 at both the Target and Dillard's web sites, in conjunction with a housewarming party to celebrate a new house they had purchased in Little Rock. The Arkansas Times, which first reported the story, noted that wedding gifts represent one of the exceptions to a $100 cap on gifts to political leaders under Arkansas law.

His fiscal record is awful. He increased state spending while Governor by 65.3 percent (1996–2004) and supported five tax increases.

He is defiantly soft on illegal immigration. He supported a 2005 bill by Arkansas State Representative Joyce Elliott to make illegal immigrants eligible for scholarships and in-state college tuition. He also vehemently opposed a 2005 bill sponsored by Arkansas State Senator Jim Holt which would deny state benefits to illegal immigrants; calling it "un-Christian." he argued that illegal immigrants pay more in taxes than they receive in benefits: "They pay fuel taxes. If they're using a fake Social Security number, they're paying Social Security taxes and will never receive any benefit.” He also believes that Congress should seal the border and does not advocate punishing children of illegal immigrants for their parents' crime.

He also has made awful comments and jokes about Jews and concentration camps and suicides.

These are just a few of the reasons I do not support Mike Huckabee and never will.

From a person who supports John "Rhino" McCain, that carries about as much weight as a press release from the 9/11 Truthers.
